I have been looking for a new home for the last year in multiple states and have been dealing with a few different realtors who have all been fairly decent. We finally found our new house and the time came to sell our house in Lake Tapps.

My uncle is a realtor in CA and found a firm out of Bellevue that sells a couple of hundred million a year in home sales. I was a little concerned with the distance to Bellevue but I figured if it was a concern they would let me know. I had a video conference with the owners of the firm in early June and did a virtual walkthrough of the house. I have a unique house as it has quite a bit of upgrades and home automation. I made it very clear that these need to be shown to potential buyers because a lot of these systems and upgrades aren’t super visible unless you know about them. They agreed and came up with a sound plan to market the house and get it sold and they said they needed to get it listed asap because July and August were slow months because everyone is out enjoying the sun. I was also getting the carpet changed out and they said they had a guy that could handle that and told me not to worry about anything as they would handle everything from here on out. I felt good about everything but that is where things changed.

Their carpet guy took 3 weeks to do the installation and the house went live June 28th which is not good for selling according to them. I had a couple of cameras in the house and I’m so glad I left them there. The agent they sent to do the open houses knew almost nothing about my house or the over $200k in upgrades I had installed. I talked to the realtors and they apologized and said they would update the agent. Nothing much changed over the month and I finally cancelled with them after 30 days because they just kept trying to get me to lower my price saying there is no interest at the current price.

I found Karley from a friend who recommended her and she also recently sold the house next door. I told Karley my concerns and she assured me she would be doing all of the open houses herself. I did a virtual walkthrough with her and she took notes and came up with different ways to market the house including a night photo shoot because of the unique lighting system we had. She made tabs for each room that explained all of the upgrades as well as any furniture that was included in the sale so even if another realtor was showing the house without her they would have an idea of all of the updates I had installed. She went so far above and beyond I couldn’t believe it. The amount of time she spent getting the house ready and cleaning up the mess that the other company left was truly amazing.

She sold the house 4 days after listing it for only a small discount off of asking. She made me $70k over what the other realtors wanted me to drop the price to. The people that bought it were very meticulous and if they didn’t know about all of the house had to offer I highly doubt they would have bought it.

Going with the top sellers in your area isn’t always a good thing, trust me. I would choose someone like Karley over a “big shot” form any day of the week. She works extremely hard, is very innovative and a pleasure to work with. She will treat you like you are her only listing and is one of the best realtors I have ever worked with.
