I bought a property that was auctioned by Kaufman Realty & Auctions of West Virginia earlier this year. Their entire staff was top-notch and helped in many ways. I was out-of-state a lot during this auction and they answered many boundary questions so that I could review the property quickly during the few times I could visit it.
They helped in three specific ways: (1) There were many survey related issues because of errors in prior surveys. They helped resolve these issues. (2) They got legal advice both within their company and from outside informal assistance to answer my unique legal questions for closing. (3) They were very flexible in helping me close within a very narrow timeframe while I was out of state so much.

I highly recommend using Kaufman for real estate auctions whether you’re buying or selling real estate. Their professionalism, friendliness, and willingness to work flexibly with those participating in their auctions is genuinely appreciated.

My Sons worked for Kaufman.
They were recently fired without notice or explanation after being told on a Friday that there was no work on Monday, dont come in, wait. They drug it out for over 2 weeks with my sons scrambling to pay their bills and eat, and finally getting a letter in the mail that they are terminated.

When My Son that had been there for a year posted a review regarding his sadness and let down. The Kaufman office replied that they can not have employees not showing up or calling in if not able to work.

This is a response inaccurately pointed towards my Sons, and that is why I am posting.

One of the upper level employees told me that Kaufman was very pleased with the work ethic of my Sons and said the really like them working there.

My Sons are very very responsible when it comes to communication and doing what they say. They always informed the office of any up coming challenges around time off. My younger Son had some health needs to take care of, but not ever did he just 'not show up' or 'not call'. He was always told, OK'.

Additionally, my younger Son was to get a 1 dollar raise after his several month trial period as a new employee. He worked very hard, and to the point where the other employees were telling him to slow down as he was working too hard they said.

He really needed that raise. They don't pay very much in relation to todays expenses, and his budget was depending on it. They delayed 2 weeks to have his assessment and raise, and when they did, they gave him only .50 cents instead of the 1 dollar that everyone else gets.

He was told that he missed some days. Yet, he communicated very well about it, and he was told that it was ok. He certainly did not miss 2 weeks of work as they delayed his raise meeting.

.50 cents per hour to the company is only $20 a week based on a 40 hour week. This is impactful to a low wage employee. $80 a month pays his power bill, or puts a little more food on the table.

There is one higher up employee of Kaufman that I really like (James - he is a great guy).

I dont know the rest of them, but I can say that whom ever made the decision not to give my younger Son his full 1 dollar raise, and whom ever posted that they were not showing up for work or calling in, should be more true to the circumstances and certainly reply to Kalin's post with accurate reasoning.

I dont like posting like this, but I feel that my Sons credit is on the table in an untruthful way with the response given to Kalin's truthful post.

Respectfully,
A loving Father.

THEY WILL GHOST YOU AND FIRE YOU WITHOUT WARNING IF YOU WORK HERE. I’m very disappointed to have been forced to leave a review here but I’m left no other option as I don’t want other to meet the same outcome I have. I worked on the Kaufman crew for a year and a half, trying very hard to do well by the company and make a name for myself. A good few of the 5 star reviews you’ll see in this page reference me directly by name (please look at recent). I even brought my brother on as a worker and he strived even harder than I did.
3 weeks ago I was told that there was no work for us that week, same thing the next week, which was odd since the other workers were scheduled to work, then this week nothing. We tried to call our bosses and managers to no avail. Today we found out by mailed letter (3 weeks after our last work day) that we’ve been fired without specifying why.
I feel extremely disrespected and all around appalled that a company I’ve invested so much into would throw us away like that with no warnings or even a proper respectful phone call to let us know to look for other work.
They’ll tell you there is a ladder to climb and that the company is growing, while in reality it’s the opposite, not giving any raises, and treating their employees like they are disposable. They will save a penny wherever they can pinch one from.

My biggest regret is waisting a year and a half of my time here. Don’t work here unless you see yourself making the starting wage, living paycheck to paycheck till they decide they want to fire you at will.
I would have really appreciated some honestly, this was an extremely immature way to let someone go.
Now, excuse me, im off to go sell my furniture and try to find a job so I dont lose my house.
Hope they helps whoever it may concern to realize what kind of people are running the show over there.

I cannot say enough good things about Kaufman. When our mother passed away and we needed help with her belongings - Matt Yoder and team showed up in every way. They were kind, compassionate, professional, knowledgeable and all around stand up folks. They provided advice and researched my Mothers’ many items to ensure they were accurately described. We live out of state across the country and it was important that we trusted that they would show up when they said and do what they said because of travel plans. They did exactly that and exceeded our expectations. They are worth what you pay - they work hard and fast. We had zero issues with them and highly recommend. Thank you Matt- our family is grateful that we had you and your team to help us. Please support this company as they are top notch!

We bought a dream WV property at Kaufman auction. The team was wonderful to work with. Very honest, reliable and personable. They actually made things happen for us in such great ways, that we did not even expect.
Wishing them all the best.
