Please save your time and do not do business with Kenney & Everest. I tried calling Everest for more information on the unit and he picked up the phone yelling at me asking me why I was calling. When I told him I had a question about one of his units he hung up on my face. I went to an open house on Sunday and someone let me in through the intercom however the units were locked and no one came to meet me to show me the units. I stayed for 30 minutes and no one came. There are better properties nearby with professional customer service! Please save your time and money.

Owners, please do not use this real estate agency. They might be a big name, but they engage in profiteering/sales practices that are borderline unethical. No other agency in SF levies such a high broker's fee.

We loved working with Everest and his family and were happy to pay a broker’s fee as they made the entire process so easy and streamline. Everest went out of his way to meet me very last minute on a busy Friday during commute hour just to show me our flat and proceeded to communicate effectively and efficiently throughout the signing process. Honestly this was one of the easiest business transactions I’ve been involved with and I’d definitely recommend these guys to anyone looking for rentals in the bay. We absolutely love our new place!

Have gone to a few showings of their rentals properties. They aren't the friendliest team of people, really poor communicators, and the only real estate group I have encountered in SF that makes the tenant pay a BROKERS FEE. This isn't NYC, and I won't ever rent from them because of the fee and my past experiences.

I was looking for an apartment to rent and found the perfect place. The only con was that it was managed for Kenny and Everest.

The unit had a scheduled open house where several prospective tenants including myself showed up to tour. However at the end of the scheduled showing time no one showed up. We called multiple numbers for the PMs office and no one picked up. Messages on Zillow and their number received no response. They are either incompetent or inconsiderate. The likely option is both as they probably accepted an application and decided to not do the showing and not tell anyone.

However a week later the unit is relisted with a new showing. It’s likely that the approved renter did not move forward with the unit due to the brokerage fee of $1100. That’s right. We’ve looked at over 20 units and not one lists a brokers fee. They hide the brokers fee until you get approved for the unit basically so don’t waste your time applying.

When we toured the unit, it was still tenant occupied, which I’m fine with, but this was not mentioned in the listing. The showing agent could not answer ANY of our questions, even though they were as basic as parking cost, brokerage fee, etc. The tenant had to answer all the questions and having multiple showings while still living in your unit is a major inconvenience.

We ended up being approved for the unit over 10 other applicants and ended up denying living there due to all the red flags of Kenny and Everest property management. If that’s how they treat prospective tenants, imagine if you’re a tenant and have maintenance issues that need fixing.

If you’re a property owner, look elsewhere because this company will burn through all your cash flow with their long vacancy due to brokerage fees.

Unfortunately had very bad communication from the office/staff, asking you to text them then you text them and they ask you to call the office. The office staff doesn't know much about the listings nor the operations. The agent that showed us a property knew nothing about how the pet process worked or even if tenants had access to the yard. We took the L on a nice looking place given the lack in professionalism in working with potential clients.

We should have taken all the negative reviews more seriously. Absolutely terrible experience. Trust me, rent from anyone but these guys! After an arduous search, my boyfriend and I found an apartment we loved, that met our long list of desired qualities. There were numerous frustrations / red flags through the viewing and application process, but we still thought the place was ideal for us, so we proceeded. To list a few: The unit was still tenant-occupied when we viewed it, which - like another reviewer's experience - was not mentioned in the listing or open house announcement. It was dirty, items were broken, and the representative from Kenney & Everest couldn't answer a single basic question about the unit or amenities. (He'd never even seen it himself!)

We applied anyway, and after being told we were approved, they sprung a "broker's fee" of $2,150 on us, on top of first month's rent and a security deposit. This is borderline unethical, and no other brokerage/property management company in the city charges it. Still, we proceeded and paid the fee, no questions asked, because we didn't want to lose the unit.

They created a sense of urgency to pay all move-in fees and sign the lease with a same-day turnaround, even though we still had a few unanswered questions about the unit. And - our great mistake - we scrambled (taking valuable time out of work), got the money together, and signed the lease.

AFTER signing the lease, we were notified that one of the amenities in the listing - and a selling point for us - a working fireplace, was NOT actually working or usable. When Kenney & Everest agreed to check in with the owner to find out when an inspection/cleaning would be done so that it would be usable, we believed them. We notified our current landlords of our imminent departures, and began packing our lives into boxes.

TWO WEEKS LATER, with plans to move and packing well underway, they called to let us know the fireplace would not be inspected, cleaned, or usable. We requested a standard rent concession to compensate for the lost amenity, and they/owner refused. They wouldn't address any of our concerns, but "graciously" offered to let us out of our lease - after our move was well underway. They flat out refused to try to come up with a satisfactory resolution, so while it broke our hearts to do so, we bailed. PLEASE save yourself the headache and heartache, and stay far away. It doesn't take much digging to discover that they lost their license several years ago for unethical business practices, which should be anyone's cue. Wish we'd trusted our guts and all the red flags instead of making excuse after excuse for a place we loved.
