Kingston House was an absolute dream. We got engaged in late December and knew we wanted to get married that summer, so we didn’t have a lot of time to find a venue. After searching and searching I literally was about to give up and just elope, but then I came across Kingston House. We managed to snag the last summer weekend that would work for our schedules and I am so, so happy it worked out.

As a wedding venue: The venue was everything I’d hoped for. The property is enormous, lush, and well cared for. There are so many beautiful little areas that each have their own feel. From fields, to a huge pond, to forest, to gardens, you name it. I loved how people could explore and enjoy the day without feeling squeezed into a small space or told they can’t roam. It was really important to us that our guests would feel comfortable, and they did! We had a beautiful early summer day so we could go with our Plan A option of having our ceremony in front of the pond and the reception up above. But Matt has some great alternatives that would work if the weather is bad. This was a big anxiety reliever for me because of course the weather here is unpredictable. I knew that even if it rained, we’d have a beautiful spot for both the ceremony and reception.

The location: Kingston was a perfect spot for us. We had a lot of people coming from Seattle and Bellingham, and a good group flying in, as well. Kingston is the perfect distance to feel sort of like a destination without actually requiring a huge trip for people. Our guests could drive home if they wanted, or rent a property nearby (there are LOTS of options). And of course, adding a ferry ride is fun! As long as you and your guests know how to plan for it, that is. I was relieved that none of our guests misjudged the timing and everyone made it there when they should. The driving directions were also super easy to follow, so no one got lost. And Matt’s team was there to help guide our guests into the property and find the best place to park.

The house: I mean, the HOUSE! We stayed Thursday night just the two of us (highly recommend) and then both of our immediate families stayed with us Friday and Saturday nights. There was plenty of room for everyone. But honestly this house was freaking magical. Every square inch was beautiful, styled to perfection, comfortable, and full of history and character. Matt has an excellent eye and has filled the home with interesting and super aesthetic furniture, art, and knick knacks. And then of course it’s perfectly stocked and comfortable, and had everything we needed and more. It’s such a gift that we can also go back to Kingston House someday since he rents it on Airbnb. We’re planning to come back for sure, and hopefully make it a family tradition.

Matt: Matt was so great to work with. Responsive and communicative, helpful, and so committed to making your day/weekend perfect. He really knows how to host a wedding and has clearly done this many times. He brought a wonderful level of calm to the weekend and has incredible attention to detail. He puts so much thought and care into the home and property, you can tell he takes pride in it. And he should! We loved working with Matt and look forward to seeing him again someday when we come back. Also he has a very cute dog, bonus points!

The dreamiest wedding venue. We had the most beautiful wedding weekend at Kingston House. The grounds are gorgeous with ample locations for photos. When we were initially touring wedding venues, it was actually Matt, the owner of the venue who sold us on Kingston House, he was such a pleasant and easy going person to work with and you can tell his heart goes into caring for the property. We couldn't have asked for a more serene place to spend our big day.

Kingston House is the most magical and majestic venue in the Pacific Northwest! We got married at Kingston House in early June and the grounds were absolutely breathtaking. The quiet beauty of the towering old growth maple trees was ethereal and made for the perfect backdrop to our ceremony. Our guests enjoyed a wonderful dinner under the clear-top tent in the courtyard, followed by a joyful night of dancing in the patio.

Matt and his team were amazing to work with and truly went above and beyond. It was raining the morning of the wedding. Matt and staff probably used up all the towels on the property to soak up the water on the patio so it'd be dry in time for our reception. It was small but significant things like this that made all the difference.

Thanks Matt and Kingston House for bringing our dream wedding to life!

The venue and grounds are absolutely wonderful. We are local residents so we used the house for out of town guest for our wedding. The venue can accommodate such an amazing variety of events, from weddings to business retreats. The owner, Matt, is perfect to work with. He is professional, responsive, and collaborative and makes the planning process so pleasant. I cannot recommend Matt and the Kingston House enough. I am looking for new creative ways to use the venue again in the future.

Kingston House is such a magical natural sanctuary. I have had the honor and delight of officiating weddings at Kingston House and it is one of my all time favorite venues and settings to help couples begin their marriage journey. A very, very special shout out to owner Matt and his stellar staff person Samantha. They made sure I “got to the church on time” when I got caught in a ferry delay for yesterday’s wedding. Such consummate professionals who care so deeply for the beautiful property and all the guests who come to celebrate at Kingston House. Can’t wait to come back again soon!

I've visited the Kingston House as both a guest and a photographer, and I can't recommend it enough. As a guest, I found the space welcoming and lovely, with an incredible property to explore– I loved my stay here and will love to return! And as a photographer, I would be happy photographing at the Kingston House every weekend. I think it's the perfect event space to host a gathering that feels intimate, even with a larger crowd. It feels a bit magical, exploring the grounds, and passing by the water, the trees, the lavender...

The guests always seem very impressed with the property, and I'm super impressed with the staff! I love their commitment to sustainability, the personal touches they offer, and even the way they take care of guests with mobility limitations. If I were having a wedding, I'd have it at the Kingston House.

We had our wedding at Kingston House on 6/1/24, and it was truly a magical experience. We stayed with some of our guests at the house on site for two nights, and it was incredibly special getting to spend quality time in such a beautiful and peaceful setting as part of our wedding weekend. On the day of our wedding we spent the morning strolling the grounds listening to frogs in the pond and relaxing on the deck with our friends and it really helped set a great tone for the rest of the day. During the wedding our guests couldn't stop talking about how beautiful the venue was. If you are looking for a relaxed and intimate wedding vibe in a beautiful natural setting this is absolutely the place to find it!

Working with Matt was really great, he helped us think through the logistics of the day, was very accommodating and made us feel welcome throughout the experience. It's easy to see that he truly cares about the space and works hard to make sure that getting married there is a special experience. We also selected multiple vendors from the list of those recommended on the Kingston House website and had wonderful experiences with each of them. We also really appreciated the commitment to sustainability.

Getting married at Kingston House was a huge part of what made our wedding perfect for us. We are absolutely thrilled that we chose to do it there and highly recommend it!
