We had a fabulous experience buying from Lennar! The floor plan for model 4 is modern and perfect for us, because I can work from home in the loft. The construction team were top notch.
Turnkey services offered were design center, mortgage, and title.
Christine did a great job as our sales contact who supported us throughout the process because we didn’t use a buyers agent.

Best home buying experience I’ve ever had, and this is my fifth home purchase. The quality of the home finishes are outstanding. The construction crew has been wonderful too. Ours sales agent, Christine, was phenomenal to work with. She had our backs, as buyers, through the whole process. I can’t say enough great things about her and Lennar homes.

My husband and I recently toured the Lennar homes at Cortona, and while the properties looked appealing at first glance, they left us with some serious concerns.

First, the homes are significantly overpriced for their square footage, especially considering the competitive housing market in the area. Additionally, the proximity to the freeway creates constant noise, making it less ideal for families looking for peace and quiet.

Another major issue is the location. The homes fall under the Oxnard school district, which is unfortunately known for its challenges in delivering quality education. This could be a dealbreaker for families with school-age children.

Safety is another concern for us. The wildfire in November came uncomfortably close to this area, and that left us questioning the long-term safety of the development.

In summary, while the concept might work for some, we feel there are better options available elsewhere for this price point. We’ll be passing on this one.

Very disappointed of the bedroom sizes, "backyard", and driveway for homes at this price.

Bedroom size:
Not sure why the master baths are huge when people don't sleep in their bathrooms. One model home has a huge shower big enough for a football team. Another has a bathtub big enough for an onsen. The bathrooms are bigger than the bedrooms.

"Backyard":
There's no backyard but just a tiny patio enough for a small dining table for "outdoor" living/entertainment.

Parking:
Unfortunately, people don't use their garage for vehicles in Ventura County, so parking will be ridiculous as some homes only have 1 driveway. Would be fine in an ideal situation where people actually use their garages for vehicles and not as storage or living space.

Only decent thing is the location.

The finishes aren't really wonderful. I was very disappointed in the master bath and bedroom. The MB bath was so huge it was bigger than one of the secondary bedrooms. Also the MB shower could be used by a family of 10 all at the same time, so big - ridiculous. There is NO yard, barely a small patio.

Not a fan of how small the lots and Square footage are for the price. Mostly agreed with other reviewers here. Also, we were turned off by the street names being named after former, original city council members.
