If you are thinking about renting from Lofgren Properties, DO NOT. Rich Lofgren is a rude individual who lets his maintenance companies park in his tenants parking spots with NO NOTICE. He will then "give" you a different parking spot five blocks away and expect you to be content with it. He allows maintenance to park in our parking spots for days on end and gives no solution and pretends he's clueless about them parking in our spots. He simply does not care about his tenants, and violates his own leases. He cares more about his relationships with his cheap maintenance crews than with his tenants. We pay $150 for our driveway and we expected to be able to use it 24/7 per our lease.

Allows subleases but totally mismanages them. First they didn't make sure that the tenant is providing the correct information to the sublessee. Then makes the sublessee pay out the tenants security deposit. sends the security deposit to the tenant and doesn't do anything if the tenant doesn't send the sublessee the money that they are owed.

I have rented from Lofgren properties for 5 years and have always had good experiences. I was able to find a fast rental in 2018 and have now moved into 2 different spaces. I would recommend anyone to find a property they enjoy from this landlord. All maintenance issues are resolved quickly. The owner is understanding and compassionate.

I have written two reviews ever, but Lofgren Properties warrants writing my third. I have never experienced as much kindness and willingness to work with tenants as with Rich. He truly cares about renters and wants to make the lives of those living in his properties the best that he possibly can. This is the kind of service and communication that you just cannot get with a bigger rental company that most students in Madison use. I would HIGHLY recommend Lofgren Properties to anyone who is considering them.

I have rented from Rich for 1 year and it has been great. Rich is super laid back, friendly, and responsive to questions. The maintenance staff is exactly the same. I have had all maintenance requests fixed in a timely manner. I’ve lived in Lofgren owned apartments for over 3 years and have had a great experience. The landlord Rich is incredibly responsive and the staff are always friendly and helpful. Not to mention I loved the apartments and the price. This family owned operation really looks out for their tenants in a way that no major property company could. I’ve called on weekends and gotten emergencies taken care of right away. And little fixes are always repaired the next day. Last year, Rich was kind enough to hold our apartment for 6 months while we were trying to find another roommate in order to resign. I think Rich is an exceptional landlord and I am grateful for all the favors he has done for me over the years!

I rented from Lofgren Properties for a year and a half near James Madison Park. The apartment was beautiful with several unique amenities including gorgeous hardwood floors, a skylight and perfect view of the lake. The landlord was responsive, flexible and kept the property in good condition. I have found the company to be community focused and willing to go the extra mile for their tenants. Rich is an amazing landlord! And very trustworthy and compassionate. I have been renting through him for the past 4/5 years. His staff is very quick at fixing repairs the same day. He has been the best landlord I've rented through in Madison. He has a variety of apartments and sizes to choose from. I highly recommend his properties!
