My wife and I were relocating from San Diego and didn’t think we were ready to buy, so we were just “shopping neighborhoods” to get a feel for where we might like to live. Mary Ann helped us sell our Burlingame home in 2022, and I cannot recommend her enough. She is energetic, responsive, knowledgeable, professional, and a joy to work with.

We were planning to move to the east coast and wanted to see if it were possible to get our house on the market in the spring. But we also needed to be on the east coast for the springtime market there. We consulted Mary Ann in November, and she drew up a written game plan that would allow us to achieve this objective, involving working with her from the east coast while she and her assistant Vanessa managed contractors and all the marketing from California. Mary Ann listened to our ideas about replacing poorly functioning sliding doors with new ones, refinishing floors, painting, and beautifying the bathrooms and kitchen. She had some brilliant ideas of her own including replacing some ugly tiles with hardwood flooring. She also had ingenious ideas about the exterior landscaping of the house, and proceeded to lay out proposals that we really liked and were grateful for.

The timeline was tight but Mary Ann was very methodical, reassuring us that we could get it all done. She drew upon her many connections in the construction community and was able to line up contractors for estimates before we had to leave the area. She was straightforward and firm negotiating with contractors both for price and timeline, dovetailing the different kinds of work. There is much that goes into selling a house, and there is absolutely no way we could have pulled this off alone or with a newcomer to real estate.

There were various hiccups in the construction work, discoveries that were revealed only after we had begun. We were not surprised by this, but several of the challenges were not simple. Mary Ann was down-to-earth and a source of calm. I cannot stress enough how important this was for us. We felt we had a partner who was both on our side, and also grounded in reality -- an experienced expert who had practical alternatives to the challenges we faced. In the end, the house came out stunningly beautiful, and in much better shape for the next buyer than we imagined it would be. It fetched much more than we were hoping for in the market.

The marketing of the house was top-notch. Mary Ann had set up aerial drone footage of the neighborhood, an interactive walkthrough video, and beautiful photography and staging. She truly gave it her all, and it paid off. She also helped guide us through negotiations with the eventual buyer.

The experience of selling our house with Mary Ann consisted of a number of phases: planning, construction, marketing, and negotiation. Each phase required different skills and expertise. Going through the process with her, my impression is that Mary Ann enjoys her work very much. I don't think she is in it for the money -- she takes pride in all the different kinds of work required in the different phases. Yes, the objective of selling a house is to try to sell for as much as you can. Mary Ann is very much an aligned partner in that sense, but she also enjoys the game, and carries a sense of joy into an otherwise stressful and emotional process. We are very grateful for having connected with her.

I recently was responsible for selling my parents house that they had lived in for 30 years. I interviewed a number of local realtors and chose Mary Ann. She is very knowledgeable of the local real estate market and she is very personable. She wanted to learn a lot about the history of the house and my parents live in the house. It was not just any old house to her. I had not been involved in the sale of our house for over 25 years so I had a lot to learn and understand about today's market. Mary Ann guided me through each and every step. She is very responsive to emails, text messages and phone calls. Since my parents had lived in the house for 30 years they took care of the general maintenance however the house needed work before putting it on the market. They kept me abreast of the changes to the house by sending me daily pictures and status reports. Once the house was ready to put on the market Mary Ann held various open houses focused on specific clientele. When she met with prospective buyers she gave them ideas on potential future enhancements. We received a number of bids on the house. She checked out each of the potential buyers to ensure they were financially secure before proceeding with accord g offers. She did a wonderful job in negotiating the best price for me. I relied on her expertise and knowledge. I trusted her 100% and I couldn’t be any happier or more satisfied. She did a fantastic job and I would definitely work with her again
