I moved here because of the complex's excellent location near nice neighborhoods, schools, the mall, etc, and in the hopes that I could get approved for the HUD assistance they advertise, as I was a young struggling mother at the time. The entire duration of my lease I tried to get this assistance to no avail: the manager had me jump through endless hoops, and constantly needed one more court order proving custody of my daughter, etc. Come to find out she was busted for pocketing people's rent while the government paid double. From day one the apartment had a terrible roach, flea, and spider infestation that was completely unresponsive to the best professional products I could find. The manager insisted I must have brought them in via "a sack of potatoes." However the maintenance man confessed the roaches were brought in through the fridge. The single maintenance man always dragged his feet and there were always fees associated. The apartments have no dishwashers and you pay out the a** for tiny loads of coin laundry. At first you think you'll only need $10 or so but you forget that the dryer has an additional 50 cent fee for every extra few minutes, and if you don't run and catch it in time you have to pay the full fee again. The complex attracts absolute trash who all want government assistance but who might as well have stayed in their trailers, as they will likely never receive any relief from the $535 rent (no utilities included) and the residents have not been socialized for society. Also, the only water company available in that area continually charged me for the previous tenants' usage, costing over $100/month. I don't know how new management is, but if RLJ Management did not learn their lesson last time, you might as well stay in the $300 slums next door.
