I live in one of their buildings that has major plumbing issues. For the past 2 years there have been leaks and management is CONSTANTLY shutting off our water supply in the morning. There have been times when we get the notice the day before and they never even show up to do the repairs. If we’re lucky - there won’t be any leaks for a few weeks but it’s been pretty much a regular thing here. Gonna find a new place to live and hopefully they don’t try to pull anything with our security deposit.

We live in the most problematic apartment building in the San Fernando Valley. The plumbing issues are absurd and have been going on for years. At this point the only rational decision is to find a new place to live. The lady working in the office is a sociopath that tried to gaslight me when I brought up these issues then demanded I be more respectful towards her because I addressed her as “lady” lol. A total clown!

In what seems to be a common problem for MBK, we are also having trouble getting a deposit back. In addition to this, the phone number associated with this business isn't even accurate and goes to an out-of-business Maaco shop. The associate I've been dealing with has been avoidant in disclosing any information about the business and sent us a policy outlining non-refundable deposits (which are illegal in CA) literally DAYS after I requested it to be returned. At no time did they say that this deposit was non-refundable prior to us paying it. In a business that is about making sure that people have a safe, serene place to live, this company seems to be only interested in enriching themselves at the expense of their tenants. I implore anyone reading this to not rent from this company; 10925 Hartsook St, in particular.

MBK is an absolute scam. Yvonne Cheri Verrett, aka Chava Verrett, is wrongfully holding $1000 of our "security deposit," even though we never saw or signed any contract, lease agreement, or other documents required by MBK. Furthermore, Yvonne has refused to provide a receipt for our payment and will not disclose her supervisor's name or the location of the rental management company. RENTERS BEWARE. At all costs, avoid any transactions between MBK, Yvonne, and any rental manager who claims to work with MBK. We've consulted an attorney and will be taking Yvonne and MBK to small claims.

We just moved out of one of their apartment buildings, and they are taking things out of our security deposit, like a water bill we already paid, and the cost of an entire new refrigerator because of an external tiny scratch, caused by the cabinet next to the fridge- they are not answering any calls and the property manager they have is just being rude. We also havent received our security deposit and its been 3 weeks since we were told it would arrive.
Very horrible. If you can avoid- I would definitely recommend.,

After living at one of the properties managed by MBK for a year and dealing with several issues that we're never taken care of. It comes time for my move out and I am denied a pre move out inspection this property management company thinks they can take advantage of residents that live here because they're mainly minorities it is just not right to be taken advantage of because of racial differences.

They charge you fees for breathing and then will do stuff like use your parking for “construction” for over a month when it was only supposed to be a week. Run and run fast.
