The time had come for our parents to move into Assisted Living, which meant selling the home that they had lived in for the last 47 years. Our parents were still living in the house when we first met Rica, and she was very patient and understood that our parents needed time to make this transition.

We were grateful to have Rica and her team's guidance and support throughout this process. She provided options for various resources, such as movers for our parents, home cleaners, inspectors and stagers. We never felt any pressure to use one vendor over another. The choice was always ours.

We ran into some unexpected surprises while our house was on the market, which extended the amount of time it was listed, but Rica kept the same energy and dedication to selling our home since day one. She was quick to either deal with an issue, or offered ideas that could possibly help.

Rica provided thorough summaries of how the open houses and private showings went, so we always knew what was going on. Since my sister and I were handling the sale of the house, Rica scheduled a standing phone call with our Dad every Tuesday to fill him in on the latest. Our Dad looked forward to these calls each week and felt included in the process.

Rica is very well educated on everything real estate related, has an incredible attention to detail, and takes great pride in the work she does. Her knowledge, dedication and kindness made her and her team at Meraki Real Estate a pleasure to work with!

Rica is a blessing to me, I had no choice but to sell my parents home, which I grew up in with a lot of memories. When I met Rica I could tell right away that she was very caring and down to earth.

When she asked me how much I wanted to sell the home for, I told her 1.6million (I think she thought I was joking.) She came back and said look with the holiday season and it's a soft market right now, I think we should put it on the market for 1.498million. My husband made a comment and said why not 1.5. Her response was because 8 is a lucky number, with eight ending on the address that is why I thought we should have an 8 on the ending price.

She told us that more than likely we will get 1.6million, she also told us that it may go over that price. On our way home my husband and I was not too sure if her reasoning was right, but I told my husband that she knows the area, and my heart is telling me to trust her (which I have trusting issues with people.)

Rica also knew that I had to sell it quick due to my moms situation, time was an essence as I was so stressed out. She kept reassuring me she was there for me (which she really was.) As we had conversations about my moms situation, she was compassionate and very sensitive to the situation. She offered to pay for the cost of selling the home (of course she is getting reimbursed out of the sale of the home.)

As I was getting the home packed up, and cleaned out she tried to do private sale no luck there but hey that was okay with me. Rica, Autumn, and team worked hard to make it happen.

To tell you how hard they worked on December 13, 2019 they asked me if I could have everything out of the house. ( which is a 4bedroom two bath home, and only me doing it by myself) I said yes I will have it done dont worry. So it was done that Monday December 16, 2019 they had someone come in to do deep cleaning, Tuesday December 17, 2019 they had staging, Wenseday I believe was pictures and video (which was awesome.) Then finally Thursday December 18 Rica and I met for lunch which was very nice. I was able to talk to her about personal things that went on with my family, and she really listened and had a lot of compassion. After lunch we went to the house (I am glad that she was with me cause I would not be able to do it on my own.) I did not recognize the home it was beautiful.

That weekend was finally here the one and only open house. I was told at least 50 people came to see the house and 15 requested the disclosures. I believe on Monday following the open house I had three real good offers that came in.

To tell you how good Rica is and how well she knows her business she proved herself to me.I had two offers at 1.6million. Do you think I took those offers? No I accepted the second offer of 1.798million with 25 day close.

If anyone is interested in buying or selling a home I strongly recommend Meraki Realty. Rica Ruiz is not only a caring compassionate person, but a wonderful real estate agent. As I thought our relationship was coming to an end, she told me no we will stay in touch and remain friends.

This review is long overdue but when selling and buying a home "things" get hectic! However, if we had been dealing with anyone besides Rica and her team we are sure it would have been much more hectic. Rica helped us buy our very first home back in 2013 and she was our first go to person when we decided to sell and relocate back to the coast. She knew what price to list our house and her follow through went above and beyond. She schooled some other agents in the process which really impressed us. She knows the law regarding real estate and if she has any doubt she will not second guess, she will find out. Meanwhile she was helping us purchase our forever home and held our hands through that process as well. She makes it clear that she is on the side of her clients and will not let anyone pull the wool over your eyes. It is so clear that she knows this business as well as loving what she does and loving her clients. How do you grade that kind of integrity especially when it is so rare? OH, and she has great contacts for any of your home improvements. Those people love and admire her as well. Even though our transaction is over she regularly checks in with us.
