I have worked with agents at Micky Blackburn Realty on more than one purchase and sale of property. I've found them to be professional and responsive. Micki herself has a long history with -- and is very knowledgeable about -- the local real estate market. She was readily accessible to assist.

I used Micki Blackburn Property Management services for 4 years, living out of state. They found my tenants, managed missed rent and HOA infractions, and coordinated repairs from a hurricane and general wear and tear.

Pros: small local business, friendly staff, the property manager tells it like it is and is easy to get in touch with by phone or text.

Cons:
-lacking current technology and/or proper staff training: they don't offer direct deposit, challenges with getting documents/receipts/responses to email in a timely fashion, photos to list home were poor quality.
-not enough support staff: there is only 1 property manager for the company and when major events (hurricane) or personal issues arose his services fell through, such as follow up on important home issues.

While the four years of management service ranged between good and mediocre, I was truly surprised and disappointed by the level of unprofessionalism I experienced in the last month, hence the 2 star rating.The property manager didn’t give the tenants their final move-out date, which delayed their moving out and my listing the property for sale. He unprofessionally blamed/yelled at me for the mistake, though written communications confirmed otherwise. I ended up having to calculate last month’s rent, collect rent, and get documents signed myself. When I attempted to discontinue the company’s services (I was already out of contract) they refused to transfer the security deposit so that it could be processed and returned to the tenants. The property manager contacted the tenants multiple times in the last month providing false information, including telling them I was filing a claim against their security deposit on the same day I communicated the opposite intention to his manager. I tried contacting and speaking with the owner but never received a response.
