A Taste of Old-School Italy in the Heart of NYC!
Milano Market Westside is a place that takes you back in time. I was truly curious to try it, and stepping inside felt like walking into one of those classic Italian delis that were all the rage in the ‘60s, ‘70s, and ‘80s. It instantly reminded me of the kind of places any Italian, myself included, grew up with.
The more I look around the more this place feels like a paradise! My actual exclamation as I started to realize where I was is “I’m in Heaven right now!”.
Now, let’s talk sandwiches, because Milano Market is the place you wanna go for.
I had 3, and each was a masterpiece. THE EGGPLANT with vodka sauce was pure comfort, packed with layers of Black Forest ham, ricotta, kalamata olives, pesto, and basil, all melting in perfect harmony! Then came THE BRUTUS, a bold, flavor-packed beast with sopressata, mortadella, prosciutto, mozzarella, ricotta, Parmigiano, arugula, and a touch of balsamic glaze. Delisciousness on a sandwich! A must-try for those with a serious appetite. And finally, the PROSCIUTTO CAMPANA, a heavenly combo of prosciutto, buffalo mozzarella, arugula, sun-dried peppers, and balsamic glaze. Simply out of this world!
They use top-quality ingredients, many of them imported straight from Italy. The staff is excellent and incredibly fast, making the experience even better. And then there’s Camillo, a friendly, charismatic host who adds even more charm to the atmosphere. Beyond the food, the ambiance and location Camillo, along with his guys, are making the experience even better, a truly remarkable one.
He’s friendly, easygoing, and always up for a great chat!
Everything about Milano Market feels like a direct trip to Italy, from the products on the shelves (some woke up so many memories from my childhood!) to the flavors in every bite. Simply outstanding on all fronts.
Walking into Milano Market Westside is like stepping into a classic Italian deli, warm, nostalgic, and full of incredible aromas.
The first bite of my sandwich instantly transported me back to my childhood, reminding me of the afternoon sandwiches my grandma used to make when I lived with her.
This place isn’t just about food, it’s about memories. Genuine, authentic, fresh, welcoming and friendly!
Milano Market isn’t just a deli, it’s a trip to Italy, one unforgettable sandwich at a time.
I can’t wait to work my way through their massive, mouthwatering menu!

Found this place on Ig years ago. Dreamed about visiting so I did for my birthday trip to NY. Best sandwich ever!! A lil expensive but it was worth it. I got ‘the Deuce’ n it was massive!! Tasted even better the next day. Busy spot so expect a small wait. Can’t wait to go back 🔥🔥🔥

Simply the best spot in the neighborhood to get a sandwich. I walk ten blocks from my apartment at least once a week for their sandwiches and other treats, and it's worth the travel every time. The H8 Leg of Lamb Sandwich is the underrated hero of the menu imo but I've tried maybe a dozen of their sandwiches and haven't been disappointed yet.

The reality is: it’s the best Italian deli north of 96th…. 86th…79th…? Regardless, it’s good. But is it $17 sandwiches good ?

No & yes. It’s not a destination. For the same price, I can get double the sangwheech and better quality in midtown. But, we aren’t in midtown are we- Karen.

Quality is top toots for the UWS. Yes, there’s other things besides sandwiches here & visually, it all looks legit and good but I came here for the sangwheeecha. It’s not exactly piled high with meats or fresh bread, like Pisillo’s ( my gold standard ). Yet- You won’t get a better Italian sandwich in the neighborhood.

That said, it’s overpriced for what you get. If you’re desperate and aren’t going to be south of 59th street- they more or less are the only game in the neighborhood when the craving hits

I ordered a number 57: smoked prosciutto sandwich with no vinegar. I got a sandwich with some smoked prosciutto, a lot of prosciutto cotto (ham - which i did not ask for) and the sandwich is bathed in vinegar. What upsets me most is that the man making the sandwich did not even ask me if I wanted these things. There was no confirmation of what I had ordered, I was just handed a sandwich no questions asked.

The “Prosciutto, Burrata” 🤌 My goodness! This was a whole experience. And I didn’t feel heavy or tired after eating it. Great quality and an amazing combination of flavors. Always love popping by Milano when I can, even if it’s just for a nice Italian soda.
