. There needs to be more full time staff to properly care for so many people, many of whom are over 75 or disabled. Health and safety issues aren’t being addressed because the manager is often arguing with tenants. There are 6 empty apartments at this time due partly to people moving out.

This morning a homeless man was found sleeping in our library. He had the code to the building because his wife used to live here. The code must be changed if we are to feel safe.

For nearly 3 years, Novato Village Senior Apartments has been a very positive experience for myself and my parents. My parents lived in a house down in Monterey and decided they wanted to move closer to me and downsize. I was a bit apprehensive about moving them into a smaller living space, but they have really enjoyed their new home.

Soon after the complex was built, they moved into one of their 2-bedroom/2-bathroom apartments. I had toured several other facilities in Novato before deciding on Novato Village.
The apartments are clean, safe and have a lot of amenities, especially for an independent living facility. They have a large common area, a nice gym, a small library, and a beautiful courtyard. They also allow pets which is a huge plus since my parents have a cat. Most of the tenants are pleasant and they’ve become friends with some of their neighbors.

Barb is the community manager, and she has been an absolute pleasure to interact with since the day I toured the apartment complex. She is thoughtful, attentive, and goes out of her way to make the complex a fun, friendly and inviting atmosphere. If my parents need something or have an issue, it’s always resolved promptly. Barb truly cares about the tenants. I can imagine her job is not always easy having to deal with various personalities and demands. Shortly after I met Barb, I met Marcie who works with her in the main office. She has also been extremely helpful and friendly. I see both often as I visit my parents 3-4X per week.

Each month there are various events (daily coffee, bingo, holiday gatherings, etc.). It gives my parents the opportunity to get out, mingle and meet new friends. I find these events to be a huge bonus for my parents considering this isn’t a “full service” facility and they aren’t required to feed tenants.

I’m extremely happy I found this complex for my parents. It puts my mind at ease to know they are in a place that is safe, clean, and welcoming environment. I would recommend this facility to anyone looking to find their next home or helping someone find their next home.

After 18 months of living here I am happy to say I truly like my apartment and appreciate its hardworking management. Having brand new appliances was a welcome treat. My location provides plenty of natural light and little to no noise. I feel safe and content here. In addition, a variety of activities are offered year round … and I find the residents I have met to be warm and friendly.

Starting second year living here. I love it here and am extremely happy here. The building is new and is really nice. It’s easy to have any problems fixed by requesting help. Michael in maintenance is super nice and very helpful. Barb manages the complex and really stays on top of everything. She is also nice and always tries to help. Nothing bad to say.

Ive found Marcie and Solomn especially helpful. Marcie is a gem, she has assisted and solved problems and listened to my issues. And fixed things that needed fixing. Solomon is quietly efficient. He gets things done with a minimum of hassle. I am thankful to have such lovely people to go to. The over all friendliness of everyone here is much appreciated.

I like my apartment very much, the view and appliances are greatly appreciated. While I understand that Covid has impacted some of the promised services such as continental breakfasts, when mask mandates go, these services don't necessarily return.

I've also never seen the promised computers, library development, and so on. What's seriously lacking and sub-standard for the needs of the building is the two-half-days-a-week maintenence schedule. If one's toilet stops working or there is a pipe leak on Thursday eve, no work gets done on it until Monday. These are basic human needs, and this is not right. Thank you!
