This spot is not to be confused with June Lake’s Pine Cliff—this spot is in Old Mammoth and it’s a total charmer! Tracy, the owner (who is part of the charm) is a real down home hostess, with a sweet pack of dogs and great tips on local hikes and restaurants. The cabins are 50’s rustic and decked out with vintage fixtures. This is what Mammoth used to be like and if you love nostalgia, you’ll love this spot. My husband, dog and myself stayed for three nights in cabin 3 and found it cozy, with all the cooking amenities one could need. There’s even a Buck Stove and a really lovely heater too (seriously, heats the place up in minutes!). This is our new (to us) favorite spot in Mammoth and we’ll be coming back as long as this place will have us.

Cabin in the Woods. We just finished a great week at Mammoth and we stayed in a super cool, rustic cabin at this location. While simplistic, it was not lacking for anything and was nice and clean! And, yes, really well priced! ||We have stayed all over Mammoth (from bridges to juniper springs to the village) and there are many places that are super close to ski area and have pools/hot tubs and ski lockers, etc. if you require these things, Pine Cliff may not be the place for you. But it was really great for us. It had a working tv with cable/dvd, clean bathroom, sweet and easy to use kitchen, wood burning fireplace, sleds, short drives to town or Eagle Lodge. Just a note on the kitchen : it had everything I needed to cook all week long despite it’s convenient size. It stayed super warm and cozy inside and it housed our two tweens and a toddler just fine. There was even a cute snowman by our door! ||The host was so kind and always ready to show us where the wood was or give tips on sledding.

The cottages are super cute and the service was amazing. The hostess was great and provided extra blankets upon request. Cool location in a wooded area but close to the main street and activities.

For over 25 years we have been staying at Pinecliff Resort. It is truly a cabin in the woods, very warm and comfortable, well-equipped and just a great place to hang up your skiis and spend a cozy evening at "home". We usually spend a night or two in the cabin or go to one of the great local restaurants. The best part is that we don't have to keep our pets at home. At one point, we had 4 dogs and a cat with us. Most of the other guests have their pets too, and it has always been a friendly environment for both pets and people. Traci Walker has done a great job through the years, keeping the place clean and updating the decor, linens etc. It has truly become a "home away from home." In fact, when we make that turn onto Woodman, my dog would get a and wag his tail, "We're finally home after all of this driving!" I'm sure that's what he was saying!

From reading other reviews, I think people are confusing two different Pine Cliff resorts. One is a camp ground, the other is a group of free standing cabins. Tracy, the owner of the cabins located in Mammoth off of Old Mammoth road is very nice. There is a very homey feeling about her and her cabins. It is not fancy. It is more like staying with a relative who doesn't have a lot of money. The word resort is a misnomer. It should be called PineCliff dog haven. The rooms are clean, and decorated in early garage sale, and that contributes to the homey feeling. If you want a nice place with all the amenities (i.e. soap) to stay with your dog, go to Edelweiss where you will pay more.

If you want to feel at home with your dogs, with a convenient place to stage your adventures in the mountains, this is the perfect place to stay. It's located on a dead-end street, in a friendly neighborhood. Traci Walker is the on-site owner & always offers extra towels or advice on day trips. Twyla Twinklestar is Traci's freewheeling little dog who is not afraid of bears and never has a bad day. We stay here to ski or mountain bike and have always appreciated the cabin's kitchen, wi fi, tv, privacy, and the laid back vibe. It's more rustic than the condos in town, but you will have a more local and insider experience than you would have at most other places. If you don't mind unpaved driveways, open windows to the cool breeze, wandering dogs in the neighborhood, and cold drinks on ice... then this is your kind of place. If you prefer something more paved and formal, then this will not be your cup of tea.

Just the get - away I needed for a birthday retreat .... Such beautiful everywhere. My friend & I stayed in cabin #3 ... by far the best ... upstairs & downstairs w/ full kitchen, a fireplace, tv w/ vcr, and a heater.||||We didn't bring a dog, but I can see how any dog would love that area. So many trees for all.||Traci, the owner, is a sweetheart and a nature lover. A free spirited soul who cares about everyone.||||If you can get reservations, I highly recommend this small but quaint property tucked away from the city lights and noise. I will return (hopefully sooner than later).
