Sandston Plateau is head and shoulders far above all other senior living facilities. They truly care about their residents. I feel very fortunate that they accepted my mother with open arms. We as children of current day seniors have tough choices to make because we all want the best care for our parents and I can assure you this facility fits the bill and checks all the boxes. This facility is the best kept secret in the Richmond area. In helping my friend look for safe, clean and lovely living arrangements this place beats every one of them. I am over the moon that we found Sandston Plateau. It is so clean and organized I can't believe it after seeing where she was before and what is available in Richmond, Hanover and Henrico. The staff Hiedi and Monique couldn't have been any nicer or more helpful.

Heidi is a very polite person and was very patient with me on filling out my paperwork. And so far since I have been living here at sandston plateau it is a very nice place to live and all the residents I have met since I have been living here are very friendly and respectful.

It’s completely disheartening to find racism within any organization let alone an organization where my mother lays her head and pays her rent. My mother lives at this complex and I found myself here writing this review because Monique has created a horrible experience during every interaction with my mother. I was on the phone while my mother was interacting with this woman and I wanted to shield my mother from this woman’s rude and condescending tone. This is a senior living establishment, I do NOT believe tenants should have to deal with this much stress and anxiety from management. I should be hearing pleasant responses from my mother. However, I’m left thinking my mom is unsafe. I am on the phone with my mother for hours trying to reassure her. I hope the best for Monique. When we find an establishment that supports diversity with the people that work for the establishment and the people who live within the establishment does warm my heart. The rest of the staff are amazing but I do not think these interactions need to continue.

Heidi was very helpful and thorough about explaining the process of application intake. She was pleasant, patient and understanding whenever I asked questions. She gave me a tour of the building and explained the different section on the grounds. I really enjoyed talking with her and the time spent while looking at facility.

I hate to say it but racism from my own kind is well and alive with Monique as the Manager at Sandston Plateau property in Sandston, VA. I came to visit and inquire about a 1 bedroom for my client. She was rude from the jump. As I talked and asked questions, she stood there looking me up and down in disgust as the gatekeeper of not letting blacks inquire about this property. She kept looking me up and down as if I was not good enough to inquire as a black person for someone else. As w stood between the lobby's first door and the security code door, I attempted to get a second application in the lobby she didn't want to get another one for one of my other clients. She made it known to me very rudely. It was because she assumed my client was black. No smile and very little eye contact. I managed to maintain my composure but I was "heat". I left and returned within 10 minutes with my white" client. Oh, her WHOLE attitude changed and she was much nicer since she found out I had a white client. She treated my WHITE client very well and was nice to her since she saw who she was when I returned. I sat and watched how nice she was to my client. Her tone was voice, etc. Unfortunately, I didn't get the same treatment as a Black person She was asked the client's name and engaged her in conversation as she took down her information. Wh She was very friendly and smiling at her. I didn't get any of the same. When she asked my client who referred you. She pointed her finger and she "YOU" with emphasis and disgust in her tone of voice as if I was a thing not to be respected, I politely corrected Monique and said my name is Ms Lynn. When I was there by myself she acted like I had body order. I was dressed professionally in my nice outfit with my red shoes/flats on. Monique needs to do better and not make assumptions about anyone. Learn to embrace your own culture. We are not monothetic as a people. I don't appreciate being made to feel like less than within my culture. Monique if you are from the African diaspora, please grow up and stop thinking you are better than anyone. Your attitude that you had when I showed up today was "nice nasty"
