Potential customers of Secluded Land, PLEASE read and check twice any surveys or covenants from Secluded Land properties that are given to you. They readjusted our property lines after the sale in order to sell the adjacent property. They admitted the property line documentation was changed but everything else would be the same. WE TRUSTED THEM. It ended up the property lines took away some river frontage the adjacent lot needed. Secluded Land therefore reduced our acreage to make the sale of the other lot and we ended having paid more for less!! Building on the property revealed other issues we were mislead on as our view was no longer on our property to clear the trees. PLEASE be careful with this group!!

We have proof that we were sold a certain view & acreage for a particular amount (Lot 7), then, to make a sale of Lot 6, Secluded Land reduced our acreage without any monetary adjustment and renumbered our lot from 7 to 28 (see dotted line in lot 27 for the land we lost). We trusted Secluded Land which was our mistake. Turns out we could have sold that portion of land to the neighbor. Instead they re-drew the property lines and pocketed the money. They assured us it was just correcting a survey error on paper but turned out it wasn't as the new survey attests. What we didn't know was we could have said no since we already owned it. We didn't know they were taking away property we paid for. PLEASE check anything these people give you. They are only looking out for their best interests.

** Update: The point is that they knew they were reducing the acreage and didn't reduce the cost of the property. As you can see from their response, they claim not to have the legal sales documents (we do) but they didn't mention wanting to make it right. See photos. The dashed line shows what they took without compensation. **
Beware of Secluded Land Company and Four Rivers Realty. Ensure you have a recourse for their survey errors.
We paid 75k for 4.21 acre property and within months was told they made a survey mistake and it was reduced to 3.62 acres as well as our lot number had to change. There was no refund of the land we lost with the new survey.
We recently built on the property and discovered that some of the 'changes' they made to the surveyed land was to reduce the view we thought we had as we no longer own the trees we thought we owned. The subsequent change has caused issues with taxes and with building which is how we realized what we missed/didn't understand back then.
Ensure you understand completely where your lot lines are and if they come to you regarding a survey/lot line mistake, make them show you all over again. I sure wish we had. We would have demanded some money back or walked away.

Absolutely horrible company. All they do is exploit land. Buy large parcels for cheap / $1900 an acre and 1 yr later irresponsibly way over subdivide and sell lots for $8700/acre. Subdivisions where near virgin forest, wetlands have pervaded for eons. Deceitful and take advantage buyers. Destructive to the environment in sensitive areas. Buyers do your own research and property searches. You will do much better for your money.

Secluded Land in De Soto WI will take advantage of you to cover their mistakes. They also work with 4 Rivers Realty who sold the property. We were taken by them and now have to ask permission to cut down neighbors trees to get the view we were shown that was "ours".
