Incredible day with Selkirk Powder! My hope was to get more familiar with the backcountry skiing terrain around Priest Lake--and I definitely got that, and more! Snowmobile to cat to skiing to skinning, amazing snow and ski lines, gorgeous views of the area. Ken and his crew are friendly, super experienced, and just fun to be around. Also shout-out to Ronnie who answers the phones: we had a lot of back and forth, initiated by me, with changes in my party size, dates, which trip I was on. Ronnie was quick to respond, always helpful and positive, and reassuring about getting me into a great group. Back to the actual trip, I was really impressed by how they incorporated avalanche risk assessment and safety into the day as well. There was some work (about 1500' of climbing total between 3 different runs) and a little bushwacking to finish our last run, but to me that was a bonus 🙂 100% would go out with them again!

we had an incredibly fun weekend taking the AIARE 1 with Selkirk Powder Company. snowmobiling to the cat, riding up in cat, and touring from there - We really got out there and gained so much knowledge through hands-on experience with our excellent instructor. I highly recommend all skiers and riders to take the AIARE 1 course, even if you are committed to being a resort girlie. And if you’ve already taken your courses and just want to get out there, these guys do cat skiing tours too. imagine receiving a trip with these guys for valentines 🥹

An amazing trip from start to finish! We completed our AIARE Level 1 with Selkirk Powder. The staff was detailed, fun, and provided a productive learning environment. We started the day riding snowmobiles up to the snow cat, climbed to higher elevation, then skinned around the Selkirk's.

We evaluated the snow pack, practiced rescue techniques and finished with a sweet ski tour.

Thanks to all that were involved and I highly recommend Selkirk Powder for both cat skiing and avalanche training.

This is a one of a kind experience for the adventurous back country skier! We first rode sleds (as fast as we wanted) up to the snow cat base. From there, the cat brought us to several locations where we enjoyed spectacular 360 views and were surrounded by snow ghosts (my favourite!) The guides were excellent at planning routes to fit the groups combined abilities. And showing us the GOODS on every run! HIGHLY RECOMMEND Selkirk Powder to anyone looking for a back country experience in beautiful Northern Idaho!

Perfect from top to bottom. We were a group of two looking to get further into the backcountry - Ken and his team delivered an exceptional experience. Snowmobiles, snowcat, set skin tracks, everything you could want for terrain access. Couldn’t ask for better terrain with their new Atlasta/Casey access.

Ken’s backcountry and avalanche terrain knowledge is excellent and great for building experience. Adam and Chris were guiding alongside and completed a great experience.

Over Christmas we had the pleasure of going on the Selkirk Powders Sandpoint Ridge Runner snowmobiling tour, and it was an incredible experience. Our guide, Mike Asquith, was absolutely amazing. He was not only knowledgeable and experienced but also incredibly thoughtful and accommodating.

One of our friends didn't have much experience with snowmobiling, and Mike went out of his way to ensure that she felt comfortable and included throughout the entire tour. He patiently explained the basics and provided helpful tips, making the experience enjoyable for everyone.

Despite not having a lot of new snow on the day of our tour, Mike managed to make the day truly memorable. He adapted the route and adjusted the itinerary to make the most of the conditions, ensuring we had a fantastic time. His enthusiasm and passion for snowmobiling were contagious, and it really made the day special.

I can't recommend Selkirk Powders and Mike enough. If you're looking for a snowmobiling tour that is not only thrilling but also guided by someone who genuinely cares about your experience, then this is the tour for you. Even with minimal snow, Mike made sure that we had a fantastic time and created memories that will last a lifetime. We can't wait to come back next winter!
