I have been doing landscape maintenance for HOA's for over 30 years. I've worked with many different property managers over that time. I can say Alex from sentry management has been great to work with. He is always available when you need to contact him. He even answers his texts on weekends. As a contractor that's important when issues arise. He understands the services that we provide based on our contracts. He stays in constant communications throughout the landscape and snow plowing seasons. I can honestly say Alex really understands property management and is a pleasure to work with.

Brenna Nolan was recently promoted to the position of Community Association Manager. Brenna's knowledge and attention to detail always impressed me as the Sentry Management Albany Office Manager. Now in her new role of CAM, Brenna has already exceeded my expectations. Brenna conducted and wrote up her first site visit. It was the most detailed "site visit" on 3/20/25 I received during my years of being involved with the BOD. She provided building by building observations for example, "Bldg. 100 crushed downspout extension" "Building 200 Siding needs to be snapped back into place next to the left of # 207 upper deck." Building 300 Entrance at 5&6 J Channel is drooping down." She made similar notations relating to Compliance "dirty door," "holiday lights on bushes," "dryer needs to be cleaned" etc. Her notes were clear, easy to follow and at the end of the document she said "please let us know if we can be of any assistance with these items." There was no guess work in what she saw, no short cuts taken by Brenna in her notes. She made it simple for the BOD to respond with yes, please repair this or replace that or please send these compliance letters. Within a week, she not only had the requested work orders written, but the work had been completed by Pat Hajos, Sentry Tech. I continue to be impressed and pleased with the work done by Brenna Nolan and Pat Hajos! Thank you.

Our HOA has been under contract with Sentry Management for over 5 years and the entire Board agrees 100% that Sentry is an outstanding property management company. As the Board Treasurer, I am always impressed with the customer service provided by the Sentry team, especially our Community Association Manager, Jackie Cocco. Jackie's attention to detail and responsiveness to all aspects of property management provides our Board with assurance the community is being well managed. Some examples include: resident inquires are handled promptly and with professionalism; questions from the Board are given priority attention; assessments are managed effectively with notices being sent out by Sentry if a resident is past due more than 30 days; and monthly reports are provided to the Board that show financial activity (eg., balance sheet, income statement, reserve balance, general ledger, assessment receivables, etc.) and community issues needing attention as a result of monthly site visits by our Community Association Manager. Our Board fully endorses Sentry Management and highly recommends Sentry to any HOA seeking property management services. Thank you Sentry, keep up the great work!

Listen to your friends, family, and enemies, and do not buy a home that is part of an HOA, especially Sentry management. 1 out 5 stars on the Better Business Bureau website as well. Communication is non-existent. They send letters to the wrong address, they mail payment coupons late consistently, and also completely lose payments. Pictures are from common areas the HOA is supposed to maintain. You'd be hard pressed to find crabgrass that tall (almost 2 feet) in an abandoned kmart parking lot, and this is in a Sentry Management run HOA community..

Other than manage the communities finances, Sentry provides absolutely no value advising the board or solving community issues.

In response to Sentry’s reply, I was president of the HOA board for 4 years and on the board for 6. The current property manager is not very helpful. I do understand your the relationship between the HOA board and the property management company, and I know that the HOA does not get the value it is entitled to for the fees paid.
