In November 2024 we sold our home. Kris Shook was the agent who represented the buyers for our home. Unfortunately, we have never experienced such carelessness and unprofessionalism in a real estate agent. We received an offer on our home on 10/24 from his clients, which we accepted. We ended up being set for 11/15 as the closing date. On 11/12 I received a phone call from our real estate agent stating that Kris Shook mistakenly thought 11/12 was the closing date. I was informed he had invited a cleaning crew into our home on behalf of his clients purchasing our home, while we were at work. When we found out that Kris Shook illegally allowed people into our home, we were kind enough to allow them to finish as it wasn’t the buyer’s fault, it was the agents.

When we returned to our home 4.5 hours later, people were still cleaning and standing on items in our home. All of our belongings in our refrigerator and freezer were thrown away and the heat in the house was set to 72 degrees when it was left on 66 degrees. The absolute disregard for our home and our belongings was astonishing. Our home was treated as if it wasn’t ours until 11/15. The “Shook Home Group” states that they place “immense value” in their relationships with clients and business partners. The most interesting part of our experience with Kris Shook is that we never received something even as little as an apology. Our own agent offered us a Costco gift card to attempt to replace items that were thrown away, which we declined as it was not her mistake to make right. I hope that by others seeing our story maybe it will ensure that this doesn’t happen to them. Kris Shook did nothing but make the home selling experience difficult, miserable, and certainly unforgettable.

The Shook Home Group is an AMAZING team! I’d give them more stars if I could. Two of my very close friends had the pleasure of working with Kris and Heather in the past and recommended I contact them when I decided to sell my home. I met with Heather to discuss the process, and after our first meeting I decided that I did not need to interview any other brokers. Heather had a way of explaining things that was very easy to understand, and she kept it real. I had a certain price point in my head that I was hoping to get for my home. She showed me that the comps in the area weren’t quite that high and recommended a lower asking price to gain more interest in my home. Since they’re the professionals, I went with their suggestion. They have a great marketing plan! I was in awe of the way their efforts put my home in front of so many eyes. After my listing went live, my phone was blowing up with requests to show my home. After two days on the market I had an above asking offer, and by the end of the open house weekend I had received multiple over asking price offers. At the end of the reviewing date, I had accepted an offer $25,000 above listing price! The Shook Home Group is more than just brokers. Annie and Howie (Admin & Transaction Coordinator) were instrumental on making sure that the road to closing was smooth. There was constant contact from them as documents were gathered and shared, and photos were taken. The 3D tour thing they got going on… is SUPER COOL! I don’t think that the sale of my home could have gone more smoothly. With the right broker, team, and tools, they were able to get my home from listed to check in hand in 30 days!
