Never expected RACISM in this country, but here it is.
The worst Property Management I’ve ever had an experience with.
Lady’s don’t have an idea how to use a Property Management platform they are working with.
After application and all the requested documents were submitted and you came to office to make sure everything is ok, you’ve got an answer that they have everything they need, decision is pending. And you’re waiting for almost 3 weeks(!) to get the answer that you’re application wasn’t approved because of missing documents(!). 3 weeks, a lot of emails to make sure that everything works and not receiving your deposit back when they knew exactly they would not approve you for sure just BECAUSE they don’t like you.
Such a beautiful apartment complex, good location, but zero understanding how to provide a good quality service for potential tenants.

After the new ownership took over last year, this place went downhill fast

They fired all the previous staff and the new staff they hired are very incompetent and they do not know how to use their platform and systems properly as there’s always delays and excuses when you go to ask for help or many different topics

For myself, I moved out last September October timeframe and I never receive my security deposit even though I confirmed multiple times of my new forwarding address Every time I came to the office, they had excuses so even to this day I never got my security deposit back and I’ve gone in person multiple times. Send emails multiple times and call the office manager who never responds multiple times.

I’ll have to resort to small claims court to get my security deposit back, which is unfortunate but I do not recommend this place to anyone

It started out great, until Jessica left. From that point it has gone down hill fast. This summer both pools were closed due to them not paying there bill, so no one came and clean it, the plants and bushes are all dieing because they won't fix the sprinklers. I went out and bought a hose so I could at least do mine and some of the neighbors front. Good luck if you have anything like an air conditioning go out, my neighbor waited 2 months for maintenance to fix it temporarily, the security gates have been broken for the last 3 months, so the gate just stays open. We have homeless people braking into the empty units to sleep and or the Landry room and leave it like crap. I myself have ask for the last 4 months to get me into our port hole so we can see what we are paying for, never do I get any help from them or corporate. I've called them 3 times it's impossible to get any kind of answers so good luck. Try a better place, one who will be there for you like Jessica was, should have never let her go.

I lived in this place for nearly 10 years and saw the ownership change every 2-3 years on average. The name changed from Parkwood Apartments to Carmichael Park Apartments, then to Re-New Carmichael Apartments, and now it's called Skylark Apartments. Unfortunately, the most recent ownership has made things worse. The common areas are dirty, and they've attracted some questionable tenants who are loud and leave trash in the parking lots and outside their balconies. The management doesn't seem to care.

We had a pipe leak within a shared wall (our neighbor has also been similarly effected by this water leak) on 6/29/24 which has caused water to soak the carpet of both of our 2 bedrooms. 10 days later and its still leaking! Both bedrooms completely unusable and I've been living (with all my furniture/belongings, dog/cat stuffed into the living room/kitchen). Calls, emails, in person talks, numerous emergency maintenance calls/messages and still nothing! Numerous visits from incompetent maintenance workers who are each clueless acting as though the problem is a surprise! One even attempted to enter my home without knocking or announcing his presence. Avoid this place. Horrible maintenance, horrible office managers.

Stay away from these apartments. It is roach infested and has a problem with homeless breaking in to apartments and all amenities on the property. The property manager Jared is rude and condescending and lacks basic communication with tenants. Maintenance works around their own schedule and will show up without any communication and try to get in. Homeless people have broken into many vacant units and occupied units. They have broken into the gym and laundry and community space so much that as tenants we don’t use those facilities. The only communication you get is an AI robot text when it’s time to pay rent or if you haven’t paid rent but if you call the office and leave a message it can take over a week to get a call back. Today on 5/1/24 I get a call from the manager telling me they pest control won’t be coming out because of failed payments from the company so he found someone he used personally to try to come into my home and service. So unprofessional. Also wouldn’t want to rent from a company bouncing checks to vendors. Stay away

This place at surface level seems nice, but their laundry machines are consistently broken, pools consistently closed, and when they are open, the pools are extremely dirty. The owner is very cheap and does the absolute bare minimum to keep this place going. Avoid this place!

Place sucks.
The apartments are practically made out of cardboard and you for sure get landlord specials here including panted over hair in the bathroom. Maintenance team is great and friendly but the staff takes awhile to put in your work order , the actual staff is okay (really the only one I talked to was Jess and she was very nice but has since left the job.) too But they decided instead of contacting me to tell me l owe money after moving out, they automatically sent it to a debt collector. I could say a lot more but I don't feel like giving it the time of day. Unless you like cheap apartments for a premium price with residents who don't respect the rules and have no common sense, don't live here!
