Worthless company, shut power off in the middle of a cold spell, we are freezing and have animals and ederly. Would not recommend this company as they clearly can not keep a sufficient power suply to their customers and would rather them freeze and miss work with their tyrant scheme to make people pay more money. We pay nearly $500 a month just to have them shut off our electricity in the wee hours of the morning. If this is the only electric company you have for your area, move. They are not a good company at all and will rob you every way possible.

You know it's a monopoly when the company chooses to opt out of the BBB. They don't care about customer complaints because customers have no other options!!! You have to contact The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) to file a complaint and even then, nothing is done!!! They disconnected service at our business 3 weeks ago. We paid the full amount they said we owed ($9500) and then they disconnected us again 3 weeks later! They said we had a previous balance that they somehow missed adding to our bill. We called and all she said was "I see the printing error but there's nothing we can do". So now they've charged us the reconnect fee of almost $700 twice in less than a month! SCE has the monopoly over electricity here so they can rip people off and there's nothing anyone can do about it.

I've never in my life rented a place and was forced to pay the previous renters bills. I've rented from people for 40 years and NEVER has any public utility company held me responsible for a prior Tennant. $8,000. Dollars you (SCE) ARE MAKING US PAY OR THREATEN TO SHUT IT OFF.

It is impossible to speak to customer service. Edison does not provide any information on fixing/updating equipment. Our power went out almost two weeks ago and now our neighborhood, in Palm Desert, is being powered by generators. There are no Edison employees working in the neighborhood. One week ago they marked up the street with red paint but never came back. Edison's customer service is substandard at best. The one person I spoke to was rude, referred to me as "dude" instead of the name on my account and provided no information. How many more evenings will we have to deal with flickering lights and noisy generators?

I was having such a hard time getting the power transferred under my name until I spoke to Michelle this morning who went above and beyond to help me with getting everything squared away. She informed me of so many options and of so many programs that could help lower my bill and I’m just so grateful I got her on the phone she was so kind and patient and helpful! If I could review with no start I would. This place is terrible. I have a sick mother and with the temperatures of 115 degrees they have power outages here in cathedral city. As I’m sending this message Im charging my phone in car because there’s a power outage again. I hope someone files a lawsuit against California Edison. Sign me up.
