Steve and his team completed an addition on our home (2 beds, office and bathroom) in 2022. Great quality, competitve pricing and he finished on budget and on time. He also advised us on the concept that we ended up going with over 2 designs completed by architecture firms. Very professional team and subcontractors. He stood by his work as well. There was one minor issue with a custom fence his team built and he came back to our home 60 days after the project was completed to resolve the issue within 2 days of my request. Very well done! We'll use him again on future projects.

We had a great experience with Steven and his crew. He did everything and more that we asked for. I now have a beautiful master suite along with a big master bathroom and closet, plus a garage. He took my vision and made it come to life. I would use him again. He is honest, loyal and says what he is going to do. We are very happy.

S & S Development Co., Inc. built our deck a few years ago. It was a custom design with a roof tie in, screened in porch, and wired for electricity. The work was done on time and budget. Other builders said they could not tie in a roof on our deck like we wanted but Steve was able to do it without breaking any codes or shoddy work. It looks great! We highly recommend S & S Development Co.

We are extremely pleased with the various projects S&S have completed for us over the past 5 years, both large and small. Quality of workmanship have been excellent and have represented an excellent value. Work crews are extremely polite and respectful. I routinely recommend Steven to friends.

Ive used S&S development for three jobs over the past two years. In a nutshell, all three times I have had issues with the work done. The first two times, after complaints, they came back to fix the job. This third time, they have refused to correct their job. The details are as follows.

August 2014 - There was water damage in my basement. The crew that came to do the work put a wall outlet in the wrong spot, not level with the other outlets that were 1' away (probably about 1" off from level). The other outlet that was added in did not fit next to the trim, so they cut the outlet itself instead of re-positioning it. When I tried to use that outlet, nothing would fit into it. When calling to complain to have the crew come back out to fix the other outlet, I was met with complaints. The job was fixed and finished. Also, my toilet was left clogged by their workers - gross.

August 2015 - My basement flooded again for a different reason. I again had his crew come out because I figured they would be best for matching the paint. I had asked them to use the existing materials in the house for the job because I had leftover carpet padding from the job before. The job was finished, and at first I was very happy with the work. However, shortly after I found a very hard portion of my basement floor under the rug. I found out that the carpet pad I had was not enough to finish the job, so his crews just left out a corner of carpet pad in my house. When I called to complain, I was told "Well, you told us to use existing materials and there wasn't enough". That is a poor excuse, clearly when materials ran out I should have been at least notified so that we could purchase more carpet pad to finish the job correctly. Instead, they did what they wanted and left. It was reluctantly repaired, but I was treated as a pesky customer instead of as a rightly upset customer.

October 2015 - My brick mailbox was ran over. Although I have had issues with this contractor in the past, they have always fixed the job after I inspect it. So, I figured why not just use the same people this time. I was told over the phone that it is hard to match the colors of bricks perfectly, but that they would get really close. This job was being paid for by State Farm Insurance, so there was no reason to cut corners, I made this clear. For 1,045, a box was built in a day. I live in a nice neighborhood, where everyone has very uniformly shaped dark red bricks for their houses and mailboxes. I now am the proud owner of a light red wood formed brick mailbox. The bricks are dented and deformed unlike the very uniform bricks on EVERY other structure in my neighborhood. The mortar job was sloppy, with most bricks having edges and faces covered in grey mortar. The top "arch" shape on my mailbox is clearly slanted to the right, clearly looking like the mason just eyeballed the geometry instead of using a tool to ensure a clean look. It sticks out like a sore thumb due to the look of the rest of the neighborhood. While I could have been more clear with exactly what to do and how to do it, I had assumed incorrectly that when you ask a contractor to match a mailbox to the neighborhood, that they are able to accomplish that. The bricks were definitely leftover from a previous job, and were used to save some money. I complained, and was told that there was nothing wrong with the mailbox and that the job would not be repaired, the problem with this is that the job was already paid for. It is absurd to think this mailbox is acceptable when it does not match a very uniform neighborhood. While it will function like any other brick mailbox, it looks bad. Compared to my old mailbox and my neighbors mailboxes, it is a clear downgrade.

I highly suggest that if anyone uses this contractor, do not pay in full until well after you have had time to review the job and have had all corrections made. I would have given this contractor a 3 star due to the repairs always getting done eventually but this time I have been flat out refused, so 1 star.

Had issues throughout the process including with the final product.Things were not done as discussed and I was treated as if someone was doing me a favor and not being paid for the job. I, in addition to, products were blamed for the issues with the quality of work.
