Perfect spot to sit quietly for a few minutes- sound of the water rushing over the dam is so relaxing. The pond changes with every season and awesome little discoveries to make along the trail between the Hatchery and Veteran’s Memorial... great stopping off spot with kids for a little exposure to nature. Interesting signs along the short trail as well.

Definitely take the tour. Nice exhibits, see how a fish hatchery works, and check out the full size mural painted by DNR employee Ruth King. It’s educational and fascinating! Add this to your things-not-to-miss list. Check out the fishing lure collection in two cases. One of them is owned by a DNR employee.

Fabulous place to take the kids if the weather isn’t good for fishing or they just want a break. The railroad museum is another good spot.
Lots of displays, fish mounts, and graphics are educational and hopefully after seeing all this your kids will want to actually do something to protect fish habitats by becoming an Environmental Engineer.
They also show the big tanks of water where the little fish hatch out and start their life, before being put outside in the ponds.

Went to tour the hatchery today- it was fantastic. Even people who don't necessarily fish would find it interesting. Ruth was a great tour guide and really good with the kids in the group. Recommended!!

An impressive place to visit to see the amazing process used in raising musky and walleye for stocking in Wisconsin lakes. Even if you're not a fishing enthusiast, you'll be fascinated by the facility.
