Today is 6/6/2024 last snow we received was in Feb or maybe March. The snow cleaning truck messed up the entrance to the parking lot and instead of fixing it they have blocked the entrance for about 3 months now. See pictures. They did beautiful gardening in the 1st bulinding enterence and office other two buildings are purely money minting for them. They do not want to make it as good.
I was 1st tenant in this apartment after they built it and built quality is very cheap. It looks good esthetically but is cheap.
Hot water issue big time. If you are more than 1 person you should stay away from this apartment. In winter 2 ppl cannot have a hot water bath back to back. You cannot do laundry/dishwasher/bath together as well. Need at least 45 min break.

The maintenance crew here is great but the leasing agent, Erika is extremely unprofessional. She has been rude to us during our moving process. It has been almost 2 months now since leaving, and I still have yet to receive my security deposit check. I have called twice now for it and each time I call, Erika seems to have an attitude. In the beginning, would have recommended this place. Monica, our leasing agent, was amazing and made us feel so welcomed but now, it is extremely difficult to get issues resolved or your own money returned with her help.

The noise from the train right outside my apartment surprisingly never disturbed me. But what has consistently distressed me in the two years of living here, often way past 10pm, is the noise from neighbors above me. The insulation in the building is basically non-existent. I could hear a child's toy going off in the unit above me, that's how thin the walls and floors are. The constant walking through the apartment sounds like stomping and vibrates through my entire unit. As I write this at 12am on a Sunday several people are rambunctiously stomping about, including children, yep, at 12am..
Aside from the incredibly inconsiderate individuals residing above me, many of the neighbors here are great people, very kind and friendly. I enjoy the diversity of the area, but would 100% suggest another apartment complex.
On top of the noise disturbance, which management is really not able to do anything about, there is a $2200+ error in my rental charge to which I have sent correspondence detailing how and why this is an error on their behalf almost two weeks ago and still await resolve. “A ticket was sent to the corporate office” and I’ve been told they have no way of getting a hold of corporate when I requested a call from whoever is in charge (apparently they don’t have a direct phone number?). Yet they do not hesitate to send threatening letters of legal fees and eviction. The rent error is likely a system error when they recently switched the resident portal, but that is not my problem, and no one I have spoken to has given this any sense of urgency.
Do yourself a favor and rent elsewhere.

EDITED 4/16/25 in response to complex reply:
Interesting you're so quick to respond to my negative google review, yet it took the complex two weeks to get back to me about the rent error. And this was only after receiving a random phone call from the leasing office asking if I am renewing my lease AFTER I informed the office several months ago that I will not be renewing? Thank goodness for Yolanda, because if it weren't for her phone call I would not have known that the person I originally corresponded with, Erica, was no longer working for Summit Court. Yolanda forwarded my concerns to the management team (the one that Erica informed me she was unable to get a hold of), and within hours I received an email informing me that there was indeed an error in the system, and I was met with a simple "I apologize for the inconvenience".. But now you see the negative review on google for all to see and you want to offer a resolution? What resolution? A false promise of any true resolve to the ongoing distress this place has caused. Seems to me it's just a way to make yourselves look better to anyone who might stumble upon this review. Nice try. Unfortunately empty words do nothing to take away the suffering I have endured with the ongoing noise from upstairs and the incompetence of the leasing office. Thankfully I will be leaving this place soon and I truly hope this makes many people second guess their choice of home.

My wife and i have been living here for close to a year, and we are very happy with the experience thus far. The neighborhood is safe and the property is pet friendly. Despite this, people are typically good about keeping their pets leashed. There have been some issues with some pet owners allowing their dogs to pee near the entrances of the property making an unpleasant smell, but it is hard to manage such issues in a community this large. Yes, rent is a bit expensive (it is however in line with other properties in the area!) but the amenities are wonderful and the maintenance is top notch. There are plenty of families with small children, making the environment feel very family friendly and welcoming. There have been a handful of neighbors that genuinely don’t seem to care for the property and disobey leasing rules by doing things like smoking on the balcony, but in our experience, whenever we file a complaint the issue is always rectified and those individuals are thankfully the exception rather than the rule. Like everything, living in an apartment building of this size, it can have its ups and downs. However, with the modern amenities, beautiful apartments and a great location within New Jersey it is hard to not recommend Summit Court to anyone looking for a new place to settle down!

It has been over 30 business days since I moved out and I have yet to receive my security deposit. I was contacted last week confirming that it would be sent as expedited overnight mail, and I still have not received anything. I’ve attempted calling, left emails, voicemails you name it and still no response/callback.

An honest, extensive review of my experience at Summit Court Union!

I lived here for one year around the summer of 2023 - summer of 2024 for my 1 BR , 1 Bath. Overall, I enjoyed my stay at Summit Court. (I am leaving due to job circumstances so I had to move.)
The leasing office (Erica, Nicole, Lauren), coupled with the maintenance staff are super friendly, efficient, and responsive. It's so important to have great people who will take care of you if something goes wrong - and the staff is wonderful : )!
When I was away on vacation for a few weeks, my fridge mysteriously went out of power leading to all my food rotting when I returned. I called the office/maintenance to investigate on any power outages. Even though there were none reported, the office sent me a $100 gift card to contribute to my food replacement. It was a lovely gesture, and I appreciated it greatly! A small gesture, but it shows that they do care about their tenants.

Pros:
- 4 minutes away from the nearest train station (essential for traveling into NYC)
- 20 min away from EWR airport
- modern finishes for floor, bathroom, and kitchen (brand new when I leased)
- private balcony access
- spacious bedroom + bathroom
- island kitchen, dishwasher
- in unit washer/dryer
- gym in all 3 buildings; the gym in 1777 is the biggest!
- pool (I never used it; but it is available for all residents during the summer)
- mailroom with key fob access
- uncovered parking is included / never had an issue finding parking (huge since a lot of places charge additional for parking)
- pet friendly
- smooth moveout experience; wasn't charged unfairly and I got my security deposit back! (I did clean the apt thoroughly + patched up all walls from hanging photos)
Things to consider :
These are generally things that Summit Court can't necessarily control/ and or is out of their control for the most part.

-my upstairs neighbor was incredibly noisy
--> Noise level is one of the hardest things to control in a unit. The person who lived upstairs seemed like they have a young child who was constantly throwing tantrums , running around excessively, and dropping heavy objects over and over again. Other than warning the neighbors, there's not much the leasing office can do beyond that.

-confusion of package placement
Amazon package drivers always get confused on where to go despite having a sign outside the building. Packages are in the mail room, on the unorganized shelf, outside the building, inside the door, in the Amazon locker, or sometimes in the letter room. It's a gamble every time I am looking for a package.

-lack of carts
The carts are constantly going missing or unavailable. There's only 2-3 of them per mailroom. You're supposed to return it ASAP (I always do!) But, not everyone follows the rules so I've seen them lying around on random floors or people did not return them. I didn't have help to move heavy furniture/packages so I heavily relied on the cart to efficiently move my belongings. It was a bit frustrating.

Cons:
-uncertainty of using the amenity rooms for events There was one time I wanted to a host a small birthday party (8-10 people) but my request was unfortunately denied. Due to rowdy people or perhaps damage to the property (I'm not super clear) - they banned residents from hosting events. I'm not sure if this is a temporary measure or something permanent that they instated, but I was pretty disappointed considering I was paying a $500 amenity fee/a year and didn't use theamenity room at all.

-the backroads to get to this apartment complex isuper bumpy, with lots of pot holes and unfinished

Regardless, I still enjoyed my stay at Summit. No place you live at will ever be perfect. You always pray for considerate neighbors and sometimes you win and sometimes you don't. For me - Summit hit a lot of the things I was looking for within my personal budget. Quick access to the train station, modern finishes, included parking, gym access, and private balcony access. I'd still recommend living here - I had an overall positive experience : )
