No where will ever be perfect, but Terra vida is quiet, clean, responsive, kind of pretty actually, well maintained. Anna in the front office is nice and helpful. The washer and dryers are nice and they connect to an app that is good. I will be resigning soon, I have had a good experience here. Would love to see the pool, hot tub, grill area open but I think that might have gotten spoiled by a few bad apples, but I think they're working on it. All in all, a pretty great place to be 🙂

I used to do apartment maintenance at this complex when it was Hilltop Garden Apartments. At the time it was owned by Norman Jacobson Management. This company was a deceitful and greedy company that never properly fixed things. There has been cockroach, rodent and flea infestations rampid for many years. If you were to look behind the sheetrock you would see evidence of mold, dry rot, rodent carcasses and feces. Whenever there were severe leaks in their roof they would never replace the sheetrock. They would always have it air dried and patched up to look repaired. The roofs are flat so over the years there have been several leaks in every single building. This apartment complex would be a hazard to your health. I do not know if they upgraded the windows but they used to be single pane windows which would cause a myriad of problems. Most of the windows would not lock. Which would cause problems with security. Because the buildings are so old they would have a lot of pipes burst underneath the concrete. This would also cause mold issues. During my time of employment, they had a broiler room that would provide the whole apartment complex with water. Because the broiler was so old it would constantly go out causing several residents to lose hot water. The other problem is that the water shut offs were not properly enclosed in boxes and buried deep, so you would have to shut the whole apartment complex off when repairing certain plumbing issues. The other problem with this apartment complex is its hidden, which provides a cover for thieves to break into your vehicle and your apartment. I'm not sure if they've upgraded the appliance since, but they had stoves and other appliances that have been there since it's construction. Another thing to point out is that several residents have died in their units. During my employment there was a resident who always had her roof leak. It was like clockwork, year after year, her roof would leak and she would have to put several 5 gallon buckets to catch the water. The apartment complex never replaced the insulation or sheetrock. The lady ended up dying of lung cancer. I know deep down that because of the greed of the apartment complex not wanting to pay for repairs, that woman lost her life. This apartment complex is a mess. Although the new apartment complex might be doing some renovations, unless you strip down the apartments one by one to the studs and abate the asbestos, mold growth and other things mentioned above, this will be a health hazard. I am not privy to the practices of the new management team, but I would be cautious. I hope this helps somebody.

Another thing that I forgot to mention but I don't want to try to fit it in my already written paragraph is there was an apartment that I had a repair the bathroom ceiling. A young man had died in that unit. The ceiling was pieced together like a puzzle from former maintenance employees. The reason why they didn't fix the ceiling before this man moved in is because he was blind. After he died in his apartment, I was sent in to repair the ceiling. When I started to abate the sheetrock I had literally thousands of rat feces fall on my head into the bathtub. I promise you this is no joke. I could not believe what I was seeing. The hardest part while working there was seeing all of the injustices that occurred at that apartment complex. I was not in a position to challenge their practices and I saw a lot of egregious things. The unfortunate part is that a lot of people got hurt because people wanted to make money. The management prioritized monetary gain over the well-being of their residents. There are many other stories that I could tell, but you get the gist of what I'm saying.

If you're ever in a position where you know that the apartment complex is not treating you right, fight for your rights and don't let stuff go. You have every right to be in a healthy environment despite people's profits.

The new owners, manager & maintenance have done a great job bring Terra Vida into the 21st century, but my only concern has been, in the three years I've lived there I've only had pool & jacuzzi access 5 times because of maintenance, & yet it's been part of the rental package the whole time. Granted it's being remodeled & it looks great so far except again summer is almost over & the 110 degree heat is here and we still don't have access to the pool area 😥😠. So for that they receive 4 stars & I'll keep the 5th one till the pool area is finished. Maybe by then it will be winter time.

This has been an interesting experience. It was a rough summer. Lots of noise and dirt (dust) from all the construction. Anna, our onsite manager, and Robert (maintenance) have been awesome.
