I’d like to talk about my experience with my real estate agent, Ilina. as a first time home buyer, me and my partner are very vulnerable and would wanted someone to hold our hand and guide us through buying a home. we wanted someone who was looking out for our best interest. Unfortunately, We didn’t feel as if we had gotten that with Ilina.
This was her first time selling a home - which we understand there could be room for improvement for anyone’s first time. We usually like to give beginners chances or even small businesses - but we felt as if our kindness was being taken advantage of.

Throughout the whole process, we were really stressed out, wasn’t being explained some terms that we didn’t understand and were left in the dark about most things. We signed papers we didn’t understand, and we were clueless but it felt like we were being bothersome by asking or not knowing.

We had said that we wanted to offer lower on the initial price of our home and instead she coerced us into offering a little more. At the time, we didn’t understand that agents get a percentage cut of the final price of the home. now, we feel as we have been betrayed by someone we thought we had trusted. We felt as if Ilina was being money hungry and wasn’t looking out for us as the buyers.

She also took initiative to hire an inspector for us on her own. Inspector did not meet to our standard. As when we moved in, he failed to point out that
1. Garage door was set up wrong. So it fell half way when we moved in
2. Toilet. Inspector had said it’s something that could be put off and would still be working. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case
3. Washing machine. Can’t handle more than 3 pieces of SMALL clothing. Even though the inspector said it works perfect.

Another thing, was her unprofessional behavior. My partner had told me that during a conversation of theirs, religion had been brought up somehow. My partner was uncomfortable since Ilina had responded something along the lines of converting her to Christianity. Basically.

We worked with Lexie Arroyo, and she was great! She did a wonderful job applying our unique needs to our housing search. We spent a month's worth of weekends looking at various houses and neighborhoods, and she always communicated well about times and locations. She even got us in contact with a mortgage expert who could walk us through the lending process. Lexie listened to our questions and always explained thoroughly. I would highly recommend working with Lexie during a housing search!!
