I lived at the brook for almost 3 years so when it was time for me to move I quest a walk-through before I left .the janitor arrived I had a problem with my alarm system, taking it off the wall at the front door so paint came off the wall while I removed it so I knew I would be charged for that in which case was understandable and was pointed out to the janitor by myself. Also, I put down a pull and stick.paper on the counter in the kitchen we spoke about this as well. He asked me was it permanent I said no it’s stick and peel it.comes right off so I removed a piece of it to show him that it comes right off . Besides those 2 things the apartment was spot less clean the manager Mursal decided not to give me back my security deposit even when I arrived to the apartment to pick up my mail ,and I was checking on my security deposit she said nothing to me this was only a few days of the walk through after 15 days I get a letter telling me that I am not getting of my deposit they were returning $95 .to me that she charged me out of $700 $695 for cleaning in which I left the apartment clean and she sent me pictures of the two items so I was charged $695 .00 Dollars do not moved there if you must also the tenants was charged an extra $2.00 dollars that was illegal, she said I never paid my utilities,even though I paid ,and wasn’t credited for what I paid for she had me paying twice for the same bills ,in which the balance never went down .

I wonder how legal it is when the property manager gives the apartment based on race. Today, my family went to take Taur and were interested in renting. Everything went well until they asked about the ethnicity, and they denied it after knowing the ethnicity. Can someone tell me if this is a new law? I am not letting this go until I convince myself

My husband and I are seniors and have looked at several apartments before coming to see the Brook on Center. From the very beginning Ms. Diona Hunt was warm, friendly and demonstrated her professionalism in describing the apartment and the facilities on site. She answered all of our questions and replied promptly to our emails. It was her sincere demeanor that left us knowing this was going to our new home. Thanks to Diona, we have made the right decision! Cheers to a long successful relationship!

While our time at the apartment was very disappointing, Diona was a positive force throughout our move-out process. She was incredibly accommodating and considerate, making an otherwise stressful situation smooth and manageable. Diona is professional and follows through. It’s clear that she’s doing a phenomenal job. I hope she’ll be given enough latitude to make some key changes to turn this property around.

My girlfriend and I were looking for a new home in Castro Valley and went to visit Redwood Valley. I was really impressed with how well maintained the property is and how friendly the property manager, Jason, and the rest of his staff were that we met along the tour. We have been shopping around and this community is by far the friendliest and most organized we have been to. 10/10 think we’re moving here and would recommend.

Do not move here if you have a job. They just want section 8 people here because it is money from Alameda County. They pay half the rent and receive more respect than working tenants. Pedro is not a good manager. More black people have moved here and management has lost control of The Brook on Center Apartment. Don't take my word for it, just move here and say I was right. They take your hard earn working money and say you are on your own. I'm moving to Livermore to get away from San Leandro, Castro Valley. Run, the criminal elements is moving here. Drive around here and see for yourself. New management here is a joke.

For your family safety inside and outside DO NOT RENT HERE!!! The previous building manager was terrible. Half of the time she is not in her office or answer any calls. She doesn’t want to deal with any problem, if you insist on getting it resolved with her, she would end up not answering your call or text. They have new building manager now, so I don’t know about him or her. As to the building owner, no different, terrible as well. We had to move out a month early because of the hazardous mold problem. Which they claim they have solved by just wiping it off. It always comes back. When we were moving, we found mold in our bedroom, closet, and our nursery. We have to throw away the bookcase because it was infected. Mold was covering the majority of the bookcase at the back. I was worry sick for couple months for my baby’s health. Given how bad the mold problem was. We show the building manager (the previous building manager) the pictures, all she said was I will talk to the owner. Not give a care in the world. After we have completely moved out, we still haven’t hear anything, so we sent a letter to the building manager and the corporate office. Asking to for a full deposit and the last month rent. We finally hear something from them. All they will do is give us the deposit back. Due to the pandemic and financial worry, we end up couldn’t do anything.
If you have a child or planning on having one please DO NOT choose this place or just don’t rent this place.

Issues 24/7. Completely unacceptable behavior!!! Authorizes have got involved. Managers don’t care. And they don’t answer, or attempt to get back to you. This place is a complete mess and I do not recommend a place like this. Rent else were NOT HERE. Parking issues 24/7 as well. Your car gets towed because you have to park in someone else’s parking spot, when someone took your parking!!! Office does not care they make you pay your own toe when they don’t address parking issues
