Today was one of the most mixed-emotions of a round I've had in a long time. The Links at Bodega Bay was as beautiful as it was a let down. Panoramic ocean and bay views on every hole, but every hole left you wanting the course to be so much better.

A few very strong holes, but way too many uninteresting ones. The biggest problem was fairway and rough conditions. White flowering weeds have taken over and the rough was so long it was lost ball prone. I understand a lot of rain has soaked this area recently, so I get it. The greens were very good, although a little slower than I expected. The houses tho...so many houses right on top of the course! The opening tee shot was the most nervous I've ever been. Uphill tee shot with a slight bend to the left with houses lining both sides. You cannot miss a shot here without being a lost ball or broken window.

Holes 4 and 6 were the best of the bunch on the front 9, 5 was maybe the oddest hole I've ever played.

The real draw here is the approach to 15 - 17 when you get done by the ocean. Then 18 is again a really awkward hole.

The property HAD tons of potential, but it's been choked out of any possibility of being a really good golf course by the development around it.

All that said, we loved the scenery and had fun playing, but it's a round I'll soon forget.

Scenic course, lots of elevation changes, views of the ocean, very tough greens, and the course can play very difficult on a windy day (most days). Only 2 downside is, lots of houses close to the fairways, and I wasn’t a big fan of some of the blind tee shots.

Been golfing twice here with 30 of my co-workers playing 'best ball.' Such a beautiful course with views of the ocean and of Bodega Bay. Very good price for it's views and the area of it's location.

Absolutely fantastic course with spectacular views. I walked on and was paired with a great member and his family and had a great round. Coming from Canada, I had never been to the region and this course was spectacular for me. It was a little taste of Pebble for me.

Day trip to Bodega. Challenging course due to wind, elevation changes and the greens are no joke. Plays much longer than you think. I was paired with a couple and another single golfer. Wonderful people and we had a great time. John in the Pro Shop was really went above and beyond when I wanted to play an extra 9. Such a beautiful drive once you get off 101. Definitely will be back.

I have been dreaming of playing this course for about 2 years now. The lay out was awesome each hole more fun to play than the last. The first hole was brutal. The last hole tricky. I would have gave it 5 stars, unfortunately I chose a day that had recorded wind up to 40mph. Actually was windy all over Northern California and the following day it was calm. However I have heard it can get windy there. To be expected considering the location.
I had met a couple from Los Angeles who were visiting friends and dreamed about playing there like I did. They felt the same way that I did. Completely wind beaten and happy they came anyway. Enjoy

It took about an hour and 20 minutes from San Francisco to get to this wonderful golf course.
The view of the beach was so beautiful.
I was surprised that the course was not muddy even after the rain.
The course itself is not easy.
John, a pro shop staffer, cleaned the cart after the rain, explained the course for our first visit, and gave us a friendly welcome and see-off.
I think I will visit this golf course often, which has a surprisingly kind John and a beautiful course.
