Here’s another update of my apartment, moving out process.

I wanted to provide an update regarding the ongoing situation. While the issue persists, I've learned that Alameda County Vector Control offers free inspection services for residents experiencing similar concerns. I encourage any neighbors facing these challenges to contact them for a professional assessment of their units. These conditions warrant prompt attention to ensure our living spaces meet proper health and safety standards.

What began as a beautiful living experience at The Logan has sadly deteriorated into a nightmare. While minor ant issues were manageable last year, the current infestation has made my apartment unlivable. Despite numerous pest control treatments, the problem only worsened each time. Management's inadequate response forced me to file a city violation notice. I cannot recommend The Logan unless you're prepared for an ongoing battle with pest problems. What breaks my heart most is seeing a once-lovely home become completely uninhabitable.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Moving out was a very bad experience.
It has been more than three months since I moved out of the apartment, and I have not received my security deposit refund. I received no reply to my emails, and no one contacted me. I submitted my deposit refund request in the resident app, but a few days later I found that my account was deleted and I could no longer log in.
I have not received any message from the logan so far.

I would highly advise against renting at The Logan. We have been dealing with a flea infestation for over a week now, and the building management has done absolutely nothing to address it. Despite repeated inquiries, they have failed to take any meaningful action. To make matters worse, we were overcharged rent by $5099, and they have refused to correct the issue. The lack of communication and responsiveness from management is horrendous. We have had a completely unacceptable experience here, and I cannot recommend this building to anyone.

I scheduled an appointment to tour the property today at 1:30pm. I arrived at 1:15pm. The front door was not secure so anyone could come in, no one was at the front desk or leasing office. I left at 1:45pm. Several food delivery people & someone who appeared to be homeless with his bike came in & sat comfy in the lobby.

We scheduled a tour for 1:30pm today and no one showed up — security was not at the front desk and the leasing office appeared closed despite business hours. We left at 2:15pm (after texting and calling several times). Lobby smelled great. Many neighbors shared parking floods after the rain and the property management is extremely unresponsive so appears we didn’t miss much.

I am updating my review after living here for nearly a year.

I've lived here for nearly a year. Up until December 2024, everything was fantastic about living here. Then the property was acquired by another company and since then, maintenance of the property, front desk staff availability, cleanliness of common spaces, and overall responsiveness have steadily declined.
Common area trash bins are full, hallway carpets and floors are dirty, garbage chutes are dirty, elevator floors are unkept, and about 85% of the time there are no staff at the front desk, nor is there security most of the time at night. In addition, everyday the mailroom is cluttered with undelivered packages.

It's January 21st and the Christmas decorations are still up. This is minor, but representative of the lack of care and maintenance we are experiencing. Also, there is a major ongoing ant problem in the building and although they claim what they spray is safe for children and pets, it is in fact not safe.

We are expected to pay a porter fee, a pest control fee, a packaged services fee, and a trash fee. I had no problem paying these fees prior to December. Now, it seems unfair to have to pay for these services.

I hope this is just a transition period and that things improve soon. The few onsite staff who are here (or should I say, remain here since the acquisition) are incredibly helpful and nice. Seems they are incredibly understaffed and powerless under the new ownership.

In addition to my air conditioning not working for almost 2 months in the hottest part of the summer, they are not returning my deposit or contacting me in any way about my deposit and it has been 29 days since I moved out. Shady landlords.

Update: now over a month and a half after moving out, they send me a check for $233.24 and no explanation whatsoever of any deductions, which they are required by law to do. THEY STOLE MY DEPOSIT. But maybe the same won't happen to you?

My experience here at the Logan has been amazing!! Maithy and Raktim are so so kind and helpful. They were super accommodating when I had to change my lease start date a few times and went above and beyond to help me. My biggest thing about moving here was safety and they really helped reassure me that Temescal is a wonderful area to be in and they are not wrong! The Logan has the best management and staff 🙂 thank you guys!!
