I just closed on my first house in Seaside, California with Toby Fernie as my Realtor and I can’t recommend him enough! Toby was an outstanding agent to work with and the ideal partner for a first time home buyer. As a first time buyer, I had a lot of questions starting the real estate process. Toby was always available to answer my questions right away and often explained or answered the questions even before I posed them. Toby is excellent at sharing the options available and allowing for the buyer to make the best decision. Best part is, the house eventually appraised for well over the contract price! Toby is a remarkable agent, the best I have ever worked with over the years buying and selling 5 homes. We purchased a home in Pacific Grove, CA from across the country near Washington, DC and Toby handled all of the details like a true pro. He gave us invaluable advice on neighborhoods and the valuation potential of each location. He was our eyes and ears for checking out the property - which we bought without ever setting foot in the home ourselves. He also provided fantastic recommendations for our contractor, a tree service, and other local vendors we needed to hire. He also has great culinary acumen, giving us great advice on the best restaurants and out-of-the-way eateries.

Most remarkable is the fact that he is still helping us, way after the deal closed. After our closing, we had a bit of a challenge getting the previous owners to leave the property and Toby gave us all the available options for dealing with the situation, including driving to the property for eyes-on reporting. Now that we have access to the home and have discovered a few troubling items, Toby volunteered to help and once again provided excellent vendors we are now working with.

Most agents are done once the deal is closed and they walk away with their commission check -- not Toby. He is like the friendly neighbor who always leans in to help. I have never written a review for a real estate agent, but this guy deserves high praise.
