I have been an owner client of Townsend Bay Property Management for 25 years with various properties and found them to be excellent. They are fair to both the renter and owner and I have felt a peace of mind that my properties have been in good hands while I have lived outside the country for most of my career. The transition from rental back to using my house as my own home again has been most gracious on there part. My husband and I worked with Dana to find and secure a place in Jefferson County. She was extremely helpful, easy to communicate with, and quick to get the process handled. Since we are out of state, we had to do everything online, through emails, and virtual showing. The process couldn’t have been more easy. WORST PROPERTY MANAGEMENT company I have ever had to deal with !
Bunch of KARENS running this business.
I’m a veteran and worked with a new property management almost every three years.
They only care about collecting the rent.
Raised rent over $750 the last few years without ever fixing anything.
825 W. Sims way is full of BLACK MOLD, drafty windows and doors, old electrical, old plumbing, no way to replace heating filters.
Stay away, stay far away from them.
Owners should drop them like a hot rock!

So far so good. The only people that got back to us in a timely manner while looking for housing in Jefferson County. Was able to coordinate a rental almost entirely online after an initial meeting with clear communication at every step. The move in inspection process for the unit was the best and most thorough I have experienced. Thank you Dana!

Chris Nelson with Townsend Bay Properties informed me she had a prospective tenant who
wanted to speak to me before he rented my accessory dwelling unit. I agreed and when he called me he asked me how often I'm on the property. I told him 2 to 4 times a month on average.
He said, "I'd like you to notify me a day or two ahead of when you're coming here." I replied,
"I'm not required to and I won't." He said, "Yes you are by state law." (I've had rental properties
for 50 years and a member of the Rental Housing Association.) I replied, "You're wrong about the laws and I will not rent to you." I wondered, "Is he trying to hide something"? Based on his point of view, I would have to get permission to rent to a short or long term renter.
I told Chris that I was displeased with his response and said, "I'm sorry but I've told him no."
He went around me, she agreed to rent to him. When I called her and told her, I was not going to rent to him, her response was, "Fine, you're breaking the law and he could sue you." Pay me
the $60 he paid and don't call me again." I contacted my attorney, Chris Benis who affirmed that I was correct. She is supposed to be a licensed Realtor, yet she is giving legal advice to her clients that's inconsistent with state law.
