We lived at a property managed by Treehaven in Berkeley for a little less than two years while my partner attended grad school. The property itself is in a gorgeous neighborhood, but was admittedly a bit dated. However, management supported us on everything we would have possibly needed without any pushback. This included fixing leaks in our kitchen, replacing the faucet and replacing the oven. We felt supported and secure. Would definitely rent from Treehaven again if we ever come back to the Bay.

I've lived for decades at the TreeHaven apartments. The location is convenient, a block north of UC Berkeley campus, with stores and restaurants in the neighborhood. I've been happy with the management, as well as with the character of the apartment itself.

I lived at Treehaven (2523 Ridge Road) for more than three years and had a very positive experience. It is a great neighborhood, especially if you enjoy walking or have a car. It is just across from campus, with a few restaurants, cafes and small general stores within a block. Downtown Berkeley, South Berkeley and North Berkeley (Cheese Board Pizza) are all about a 15min walk away, along with two weekly farmers markets.

My unit had a beautiful view of the hills and received morning sunlight. It felt cozy and peaceful. The original features like wood closets and ceilings retain their original charm.

The building is well maintained with weekly cleaning and David, the landlord, is very responsive about maintenance. The neighborhood is quiet except for infrequent student parties at night.

They returned my deposit promptly upon move out after a very reasonable deduction for cleaning.

Thanks for three great years, Treehaven!

I stayed in Treehaven along with two roommates for 6 months and had a great experience. The building was located very close to campus while still on a quiet street. The unit was spacious and retained most of the original wood interior.

David the landlord was very accommodating and seemed very committed to keeping the old (but charming) building well-maintained. He was also a lot less uptight and polite than many of the other landlords that we had to deal with when searching for housing in Berkeley.

Wish I could have stayed here longer!

I have lived here for about 7 years since 2013. Just noticed this google review. I am not sure about the reason of other bad ratings. Based on my experience, I really like this place. It is just a block away from the campus. The surrounding is quite safe and quiet. Most tenants in this building are students. The management is professional and David is very responsive to my maintenance requests. The weekly cleaning makes the hallway and public regions in good conditions. Indeed, the building is not modern and the rent is not cheap for a single student. But that's the general situation for communities near Berkeley campus, especially north side. Overall, the rent control in Bay area needs more effort and wisdom from every party.

For some people, this is an old property. For me, l like the style very much. I lived here a few years already, this location is awesome, very quiet and very convenient. All kinds of restaurants are just 2-3 minutes walking distance. Soda hall is across street, if you have class at 8am, you can wake up at 8:05, it only take 1 minute to walk there.
The service is worth more than 5 star, the owner/manager is very responsive at time when you need maintenance or any other help, and he is a very nice person to communicate with. Overall, I will highly recommend this place to live while you study at UCB, you will love this place.
