We have used Tri County Economic Development District for business financing since the early 1990s. They are a true asset to our area. They have been there for us thru a major recession, faltering economy and a pandemic over the last 30 plus years, and really take a interest in helping you make your business successful. Some may think they are too strict in their lending policy's but they want you to succeed and sometimes peoples feelings may get hurt if your idea isn't quite ready.

I literally had more collateral than the loan request + I had cash - vested (36% into my project) + good credit + from my perspective -- a promising expansion. Here is what I am told ****** "Take this as an example, I am trying to buy a million-dollar house that’s worth let’s say a billion dollars. I obviously can’t afford the payments even though the home is worth way more than what I am trying to borrow. There is no way any financial organization will lend that to me if I can’t currently support the payments." ****** You know what -- I am trying to expand a business -- not buy a house. Not very constructive or professional - IMO. I am the one taking the risk -- 60K of my own money vested - 180K to secure 112K loan -- credit impeccable + 20+yrs self employment. So the moral of the story is if you need the funding -- and don't have 3 years of adequate income to support the payment - it is a no go. Rural Economics Development - sure - if you say so.........
