I live here since Aug, 2018
I realized the door is cannot be used anymore, it's looks awful, and the water enters to my apartment during raining and snowing days!!
I call the office many times and no one respond to me (brown color door)
FINALLY, the maintenance came to me and start to replace the old door with a new one in 5/7/2019.. they start and did not finish yet. Today date is 5/31/2019., and they still not complete their work. The new door don't even have a fish-eye lens to see who is came to my door, How can be safe If I am not knowing who is knocking my door? I am already planning to move in next month, so I don't really care about the door that take almost a year to replace, but that's disrespectful.

if you want to have a good place to live in with a good management then find another place.

I love living here. The new Management is awesome. I heard that it used to be terrible but the team here is great. They respond quickly to any maintenance requests I have and they are very friendly and responsive. My apartment has all new appliances and you can tell they are working to update the buildings. I love living here! ?

Whole experience here from beginning to end was terrible. We got sent a 12 month lease but then got sent an 18 month lease saying there was a mistake and the “promo” was for only 18 month. So we signed. We moved into a unit that had broken cabinet, scratched and stained counters etc. the manager at the time Brandy was the rudest person ever. We had ants in the unit before we even moved any food in. This continued throughout the entire time we were there, even when they sprayed. We had to throw so much food away throughout the year. When move out came, i followed up with management after and they said we were only getting charged for cleaning. Well we then received an invoice stating we owed them $600 in addition to the 1200 they kept of our deposit! We didn’t get an itemized move out receipt until a month later after sending a demand letter! Finally the management company sent me an email saying they were sending us a check for $600…. Worst experience yet

Honestly, I would give the apartment complex 1 star (or less), but Roy is awesome. The management at the apartment complex sucks and the turnover rate of the office staff is bad so you never know who you're taking to and next to no familiar faces in the office. I moved in when the complex was undergoing management changes, so when I had an issue with my contract the new manager had no idea what I was taking about and couldn't help me. Also, management took almost 6 months to communicate with maintenance that the washer and dryer in my apartment needed to be replaced. They only replaced it after I gave them a letter saying I might terminate the contract because of their lack of action. However, the maintenance team is great and nice!
UPDATE:
Do not move here. It's not worth it. There is no consistency in communications. One year we got emails about renewing our lease. The year that we planned to move out we didn't get any emails about renewing our lease until the last month which caused us to have to stay an extra month. There is no consistency in what is deemed permissible for maintenance requests. Management approved two of the window blinds to be replaced in two separate room, but when asked to replace a third in a different room they said they would have to charge us for the replacement. It's just not worth it.

The apartments are a decent price (especially with two people to a room), fairly nice, and in a great location. As a student, I love how close they are to campus to where it's basically like living on campus. The management people are really friendly, but it does take a while for them to get back to you. So, service and maintenance isn't the best, but I enjoy living here!

Raised our rent even though we've had multiple ant infestations (seen in photo); very overpriced for the quality of living. We have had ant infestations two times now over the last 9 months and have been assured each time by management that it will be taken care of and it's not. Management will be very difficult to work with and they will try to persuade you to renew your lease so your rent will not increase, but they do not tell you it is only applicable for the date of their choosing. We wanted to renew for 12 months but they raised our rent anyway because it was not a 15 month renewal... Also told us we have to end our lease on the last day of the month even though our current lease ends on the 7th and there had been no issue with that previously. Overall, front desk will be very difficult to work with and they will try to get as much money from you as possible.

I have been living here at University West Apartments for 3 years and I have been through a lot of office managers (6 to be exact). Brandy has been an excellent representation for the MEB Leasing company. She has always done everything she can to accommodate and assist with and problem or concern. The maintenance staff has always been quick to take care of repairs as soon as they can. There are stresses at every apartment complex, but the staff at University West have always done their best to help eliminate those stresses.
