We had a major remodel done by Karlstrom Associates and our experience was very positive. Work was carefully planned and carried out, working with our architect, and the results truly met our expectations. The quality of work was very high and there was VERY close supervision of all sub-contractors and adherence to this same standard. Sten, was honest and ethical and totally supportive of providing us with the results we were seeking. We strongly endorse and support Karlstrom Associates for home construction work.

I would definitely recommend Karlstrom Associates for your remodel. We live in eastern Washington and bought a condo in Seattle. The remodel was accomplished mostly with me at home on the eastside in contact via phone, email, text and FaceTime with the job manager and Sten Karlstrom. The communication was excellent. I was available to make quick decisions on details that always come up during a remodel so that the project progressed smoothly.

Their attention to detail was top notch. We had built-in cabinetry added that needed to match existing cabinets, and they do. They look like they were always there. And the cabinets were fabricated in Karlstrom’s own shop. Painting and tile work are perfect. Yes, we came in over the original estimate, but this is an old building and there are always surprises.

Overall I am not only satisfied, I am very happy with the results. And Karlstrom jobs include a life time guarantee. Enough said.

Three years ago we were in need of a reliable, experienced, honest contractor. On a recommendation I contacted Karlstrom Associates. The project involved repairing foundation walls in a one hundred year old house in Wallingford, Washington. After consulting with Sten Karlstrom(owner) and the two project managers, Andy Houston and Dick McDonald we decided that now was the best time to increase the scope of the foundation project to include an ADU rough-in in the basement for the future. Great advice so we did it.

The design, engineering and construction process were done very professionally. This type of project always involves the unexpected. When something was discovered that needed a change or addition to the project this is when KA demonstrated their depth of knowledge and creativity at problem solving. All decisions were made fully transparent and communicated with us very well. We became more and more confident that choosing KA for our project was a very good decision. The finished project looks great, it was finished timely and managed very well.

We would definitely hire Karlstrom Associates for any future projects.

I would give them zero rating! I would not recommend this company. Architect and design are EXPENSIVE. Work is not transparent, lots of hidden cost and over charges for craptacular deliverables. Look elsewhere if you know what’s good for you. If the design phase is bad I can only imagine constructions are worst.
