not UCSC student friendly other than location. resident for 2 years, moved out a couple months back and still waiting to get my deposit back. bathrooms have no vent, just a heat lamp and window making it incredibly easy to get mold. property management is incredibly slow with maintenance requests. our smoke alarms were constantly in need of replacement (apartment was NOT up to code) and it took a month for a simple battery replacement.

I lived here for a year in an updated unit. It was very comfortable and my neighbors were great. There are a mix of college students and families and professionals. Pretty quiet, nice setting. Convenient to everything and they take pets!! I had a conflict with management regarding my deposit but I filed a complaint and they were responsive and worked through it with me. Santa Cruz has just gotten so crazy expensive I moved to near the beach in Florida for half the rent and it was a good decision. If I had stayed my rent would have gone up 10%.

I greatly enjoyed my time at Westmont. The living space was clean and there was plenty of room for storage. The townhomes are 5 minute walk from the base of campus and the surrounding neighborhood was pretty quiet. The nearby park is a nice place for walks.
