The second star is only for Maria/the PTLA management when I moved in years ago. They were excellent.

A couple management changes later, and it wasn’t good at all. Maintenance requests that were marked completed when they weren’t, an avoidance of using emails or anything other than sticking papers in residents’ doors to inform them/give notice, an elevator that hasn’t worked in years, a pool open a quarter of the year, the remnants of the fire a couple Decembers ago not being addressed until years later (if it has been fixed, that is), the cameras finally being installed in the parking lot not working, etc.

If you’re looking for a place to sleep/that is functionally a long-term motel, this is your place. If you’re looking for an apartment complex to treat you as an actual resident, look elsewhere.

I lived here for a year and a half in Apt 207. This place was an absolute dump. My apartment was infested with German cockroaches and I asked repeatedly for pest control services. It usually took about two months for the apartment manager to schedule this, which was clearly outlined in the lease. My car was constantly broken into, as there are no security cameras or any theft deterrent. This place is poorly run and dirty, not to mention the laundry room never works. Save your money and go somewhere else.

We came in with an amazing property manager who would help with anything. Who was amazing. We left after our apartment became unhabitable after a second flood and a new property manager who was clueless. If you value your property don't rent the walk downs. You'll get flooded out. And I mean flooded out. Attached is a picture of a dresser which shows how high the water level got before Maria got us help. Me and my partner were displaced with less than 5 days to find a new place to live or else pay an insane price for a smaller apartment. They didn't offer fees for staying at a new place to us. But did for others. I honestly believe if there was a different property manager things would have happened differently. And maybe the drains would have been taken care of and the overflow drains would have worked. We lost all of our property due to being told by environmental cleanup people to not take anything the water had touched. Also very unsafe wiring. We had an electric cable running through our closet. Staff working 3 days a week but never there during normal hours people are not working.

Albina and Sandra are THE WORST management that could possibly exist. They entered my unit without permission just to snoop around and see what I own. There has been multiples break ins in the past. I saw Albina smoking weed by Sherwin Williams one morning, I couldn’t believe it. Big rats walking around the property, homeless people sleeping inside the filthy laundry room, and so much noice from the next door motel you won’t EVER be able to sleep. Save your time and money and look for a place to call home elsewhere. You have been warned !

STAY AWAY! BLACK MOLD WARNING
There is black mold and rotting walls that were simply PAINTED OVER, not repaired. It was in our kitchen and bathroom too. I had respiratory problems when I lived there. I also got hollered at and car slashed by one of the methhead ex-con construction workers they hired. They keep changing the name of this place so the HUNDREDS of awful reviews disappear. This place is notorious and dangerous! I would not be surprised to see the whole structure collapsed on the news one of these days- it's a miracle it's still standing. I almost forgot the roach problem and previous bedbug problem. Be aware and stay away if you can!

We lived on a second story unit, so maybe that's why we had a good experience? No bugs, things were fixed quickly, overall the unit experience was good. We were there during the flooding, and we were sorry to hear about the sub-terranian units. The idea of flooding was one of the reasons we passed up taking the sub-terranian unit by the laundry when we moved in, and when it flooded we actually mentioned to each other that it could have been us. The pool and bbqs were great. Parking was unfortunately sparse and we were the victims-of/witness-to several crimes while we lived in the area (thefts, arson, battery).
