They have an excellent knack for stocking items that end up lasting a long time! Perfect for last minute items, particularly men's clothing and waterproof gear (shoes, jackets, backpacks). Be prepared out there. They have what you need. And they have very wonderful clearance sales every year!

Shoped here 1/3/25 207 pm this is probably my 30th time shopping here but these people follow you around and stare at you around the corner they pass along whispers and a few boys always come out from the back behind the register like there ready to shoot you in the face.. The boys stand and stare from behind the women one never even said hello. This is not my only time with this issue. Remind you this is camping gear there selling backpacks and expensive forks and spoons granite it is slightly on the higher priced side only because it's marked up. This is not a bank,fire arms, Nintendo, gold silver, tools, cars or even close most items are 25 dollars which is affordable. ANYWAY I WILL NECER SHOP HERE AGAIN.. SEE YA LATER BROWN

we had an excellent experience with brown’s outdoor this summer- I just found my receipt and and happily remembering. Hanna D. went above and beyond for our rental which was extremely helpful and appreciated. when I called ahead, the person on the phone described this place as similar to REI but older/smaller/more charm- which is about right! we found everything we needed and received great service. thanks y’all!

Very neat local outdoors store. I love stopping in to check out gear and browse around. There's not too many local sporting goods stores left, and it's very nice to see one as well organized and managed as Brown's.

It's not a huge store, but they use to space well to stock pretty much everything you'd likely need. I especially appreciate that they stock a very good supply of maps.

Staff are always friendly and able to help out if you need anything.

Absolutely amazing people! Very helpful and friendly. I am very inexperienced when it comes to packs. They took the time to listen (without judging) to find the correct pack for my needs and size. Something else I loved about my experience is they were not pushy at all. The best for last; it was my wife's birthday and we were only getting things for me. They heard my wife and I joking about "who's birthday it really was" when the guy that was helping us gave my wife a nalgene bottle and told her "happy birthday, can't let your husband have all the fun." Very great experience.

I was in town a few weeks ago for a backpacking trip when the airlines lost my bag. I had to buy all new gear and clothing at the last minute. The staff were very helpful in getting me fitted for a new backpack and finding everything on my list that I needed at the last minute. Great store with quality products, reasonable prices, and friendly staff.

We had been shopping for weeks for good quality hiking boots that didn't cost an arm and a leg. Our neighbors asked if we had shipped at Brown's Outdoors and we had not. We were greeted warmly by several staff members. We were impressed by the man who helped us. He asked what our NEEDS were and wait for it...he actually listened to us and made excellent recommendations based on our needs. Bottom line, we walked out with our new boots and they fit so well that my hubby wore them out of the store and all day because they fit so well😊
